NFL Thread - 2020

I've always been a vocal critic of the NFL network personalities, but Steve Smith is horrible and Irving right there too.

steve smith talks very slowly...as if he's being very careful and deliberate, choosing his words wisely...then proceeds to say incredibly stupid crap. you're better of saying stupid crap quickly than slowly and letting it settle in.

That was a rollercoaster of emotion

How do you feel about your coach knowingly not giving the team the best chance to win in starting Tua next week? I can understand if it’s a developmental year .. but this is a playoff team with a very good D ..

Flores is going to win coach of the year likely and cut our rebuild in half. This year’s been gravy.

So you’re cool with missing the playoffs because they want to justify their decision to go with Tua ?

Not really but in the grander scheme of things I didn’t expect to have more than 6 wins this year and we enter next year as a potential superbowl contender depending on the draft

I'm not sure who is more stubborn- Flores or Trueblue. :)

Few questions:
1. Assuming next week's game is important to you, who do you want to receive the majority of snaps at QB for Miami next Sunday?
2. Which QB do you think gives Miami the best chance of winning next week?
3. Are you sold on Tua as being the long-term QB of the future for Miami?
4. Do you think that Flores is sold on Tua as the long-term QB of the future for Miami?
5. Much has been made of the lack of offensive weapons for Tua. If Miami's skill players are as bad as the Tua apologists make them out to be, how was Fitz able to step in against the Raiders and throw for 180+ yards in just over half a quarter?

1. Personally, yes I’d start Ryan. However if Tua starts the game hot then fine. Go with the hot hand. Thinking Dungey and Devito vs UNC 2018.

2. This games in Buffalo, in January. Personally I think Fitz gives us the best chance due to experience and his ability to improvise (not that Tua can’t). Its a slippery slope with Fitz though. For every game he looks brilliant, there’s another where it’s a trainwreck.

3. No. And im glad we’re figuring it out now in a year of zero expectations, vs next year. We have picks.

4. No, I think the Dolphins organization chose to use Tua and now Flores is doing his best to keep developing the kid and keep his morale up. He’s had no hesitation in taking him out when the game’s on the line.

5. Parker, Williams and Gaskins were out for a good part of the second half of this season. The Dolphins skill players for passing are fine, they’re just rarely healthy. I think Fitz does a better job getting the ball to Parker and Gesicki though, which is why in a must win situation I concede I’d choose Fitz

The downward spiral of the Jaguars is crazy. Three years ago they had a 10 point lead over the Patriots in the 4th quarter of the AFC title game.

and Oscar Meyer Marrone is still living off of that season.

Gruden doubling down on not scoring the TD.. up 6-7 with 1 min left or up 2 with 30 secs left. i think I take my chances with up 6 over up 2.. to go Up 3 i would probably done what he did.

Not with Tua as the QB...he’s not even playable in any of these big games against decent teams. Fitz keeps bailing them out.

He nearly beat the chiefs without his starting rb and two best receivers. I think the kids a project but he’s not as incompetent as people are making him to be

if you listen to the guys on the NFL talk shows they dont see much upside in him at all.. no speed no arm and so far can not see the field at all.. of they had a D that wasnt playing at a high level he probably goes 1-7 in his stretch of starts.

This is Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie stuff.

like I said before, I dont think hes the answer/future. Just saying he’s not as bad as people are saying. Fitzpatrick is the media’s and ordinary fans darling. Think criticism of Tua’s not unfounded, but he’s made some great plays and *shown flashes*

I think KC is somewhat toying with teams this year. They turn it on when they have to, and they know that they can. They've had a number of close games, with "meh" teams this season.

I think Mahomes truly struggled against X Howard and B Jones while Baker had a great game pressuring him. Dolphins would be “meh” if the defense wasn’t as glorious as it is
