The money in the NBA is wild but NHL free agency is such a disaster. They really need to get a lower limit on the contracts. the 7 and 8 year deals are almost all disasters in FA.

Also, 1st offer sheet in 6 years goes to Aho from Montreal.

It's not really a thing though. There is like 1 offer sheet every 5 years because the compensation structure is so prohibitive. If it was like your next 1st and 2nd or 2 1sts max then it would be a lot more interesting. 4 1sts is just stupid.

Glad we have management that’s first priority is improving the hockey club. Sure, Carolina matched and the Habs didn’t lose anything. Really would like to see more GMs take a shot at offer sheets.

Getting Panarin is huge. Traded for Trouba, drafting Kakko... the future is bright.

Kreider will be a FA after next season. Will be interesting to see if they trade him for assets. Not sure they will want to take the cap hit when they are still a couple years from being serious contenders and will have to start paying the younger guys more $ in the coming seasons.
