Nice ESPN article on Fab

Of course, she got the facts wrong regarding Fab's misdemeanor. He snapped off his girlfriend's turn signal off the steering column; he didn't break her windshield.

It would be even better if Dana O'Neil didn't write it.

She's just so bad at what she does. How is she employed at that level? Is there a small newspaper in rural Kansas missing its girls volleyball reporter?

Nice article. A couple thoughts:

"Boeheim knew that would be the case from the beginning. Big guys, he said, always take longer to develop and that's in the best of circumstances."
Did he? If I recall, Boeheim also took a little ride on the Fab bandwagon preseason.

"A message board punching bag, Melo wasn't a player who needed work. He was a bust, pure and simple."
This is just funny... because it's true.

All in all, Fab seems like a good kid who's been through a lot in life. From girlfriends to gloves, he's made mistakes and he's learned from them. I hope he keeps improving and sticks around because he's a great centerpiece for a championship caliber team.

BTW, Fab's picture on the front page of the hoops section is badass.

I think this is the best quote:

Boeheim said. "In today's world, big kids don't stick around long enough to get to that point. I don't think he's 20 percent of where he'll be someday."

Also, there is another error.

"I actually liked the snow at first," Melo said. "Then it was like, 'OK, when is this going to end?'"

March, usually.

March, LOL.

Yep, she is more of a junior editorial writer and can't seem to stick to the facts in her articles.

In her "Big East Primer" article she also lists Christmas as one of our bench players with no mention of Keita at all. She is a lazy writer who doesn't research all her facts. When she listed are starters she only mentioned Melo, Joseph, Jardine, and Triche. Great that Cuse can be #1 with just four players...

Same Old lake effect snow negative Syracuse write-ups, I I had a nickle for every Ice Station Zebra Article , Well you know I'd be a......, What ever happened to Reporting and Reporters.

Really? I bleed Orange, but the snow comments are dead on. Syracuse gets an incredible amount of snow and a crazy place to live for 3 to 4 months a year. Coming from Brazil and experiencing your first real winter in Syracuse must have been something.

I Guess your just not Old enough CUSE 3 because I've been reading that Crap since Boeheim's 1st year as a head Coach. It's been used as a anti recruiting tool for years (Unsuccessfully I might add ) . What does the weather have to do with Basketball It's played indoors last I knew, I guess it's too Damn Hot to play in Texas/Fla/Ariz/NM/Georgia/S.C. and their's too many Tornado's in Kansas/Oklahoma' Iowa and too many Hurricanes in NC/SC/La/Miss etc. This snow crap has been used as a anti Syracuse Tool since the Inagural Days of the Big East and before .A 1979 article compared Syracuse to Ice Station Zebra. I live 50 Miles North of Syracuse you want Ice Station Zebra try my County. When I was a Kid I thought their were no teams in a warm weather Climate that were any good/save Kenntucky which I didn't consider warm weather. I guess it's too Hot or too Cold to Play in Brazil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Brazil

Back to Melo, I think everyone forgets how he started putting it together already at the end of last year.

Fab showed tremendous upside in practice, it just didn't translate to games at first, leading to Boeheim's hype.

But it's so cliche and easy. Just so predictable. It read like a piece from some local paper instead of a national website.

"HE NEVER HAD GLOVES BEFORE..."

Ugh.
