As you mentioned rrlbees, the next step and we will see this in a few weeks if not sooner, the big-time high school recruits will be signing with the Leigh Steinberg's of the world, and the Leigh Steinberg's of the world will be negotiating with colleges and the local business to get their "client" at the best school with the best endorsement deal to ensure the years they are in school they are paid handsomely by the local businesses for "endorsements" and such.

And my fear is a school like Syracuse is going to get left behind because these agents are going to be funneling kids to select places and I'm guessing Syracuse (in all sports) won't be near the top of the list. Nor does a city the size of Syracuse (or expand it out to Onondaga County) have enough businesses who will pay the big bucks to attract kids for endorsements and such.

And when Syracuse does uncover that diamond in the rough of a 2-star recruit who ends up playing like a 5-star player, numerous agents will then swoop in, sign the kid and get him in the transfer portal ASAP and get him paid and put him in a better position to make the next level (in whatever sport they play).
