Noon Today!

That is good 11 scholarships are huge.

We can survive with 11 while 10 leaves you very thin. I bet Christian white gets a scholarship now and won't transfer.
I don't know that I would spend that ship on him.

The NCAA knew from the beginning that this would happen which is why they dinged us as hard as they did. I still say the penalties we received are excessive BUT whatever, moving forward. I'll definitely take one more scholly as that is huge.

Great news imo. Vacating wins means jack . Hopefully the NCAA's record books will be irrelevant in a few years.

This is just the school's appeal, right? A decision on JB's appeal of the 9-game suspension is still pending?

So when do they tell us which ones were vacated? That matters, right? They can't just strike a number without outlining it, can they? I mean the NCAA is ridiculous, but even that has to have some boundaries.

Well, was he going to leave this year?
He was going to leave because he was paying his own way and wanted to preserve one year to get a free year of education elsewhere. If SU can give him a scholarship which we now can he would likely want to stay here.
Not that it really matters, but I was told that Christian spoke to Boeheim and told him that unless it's an absolute emergency, he doesn't want to play at all this year so that he can save a year of eligibility or something since he essentially wasted a year last year.

Edit: I think this may have already been reported anyways, but in case it wasn't...
what I just said to Dasher is that white wants a year to transfer because he was suppose to be paying his own way this year. Now he can get a scholarship here I doubt he will care.

"The NCAA appeal process allows for penalties to be overturned only for a limited number of reasons that includes excessive harshness, procedural violations or incorrect determinations by the NCAA Committee on Infractions."

So, what did the NCAA admit they did wrong?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not vacating any wins.
All of us know how many games JB won. Only the NCAA doesn't. Oh Lord
That penalty is pure pettiness on their part.

Next year's media guide.

The announcer in the Elon game still listed JB with the total wins including the vacated one. Just like the 1990 lax title, nobody cares besides JHU fans and still give SU credit for it.

JB will always have the wins. I would take getting back 1 scholarship per yea and the years reduced to 3 years if it meant JB had to sit the 9 games.

The scholarships are the number one priority. JB has those wins.
All that results is the graphic for coaches lifetime wins they put up during hte games, will no longer be correct.

Getting a schollie and money back, and not the wins just reinforces the fact that these NCAA people were all about making it personal vs JB. Their main goal was to shame JB, not the university.

1 isn't a big number but when it comes to a basketball scholie, it's big.

And a hat tip to gilardino for the heads up which made the morning better with the anticipation. Now with an SU win this afternoon, it'll make for a nice SU day.
