Northeastern added to schedule...

COVID testing requirements have proven a major stumbling block. Trying to get a game in so close to tipoff just makes this harder. I bet it is related to this...
Could the 3PM tipoff be a refelection of trying to be in state less than 24 hrs and thus avoid Covid testing and or isolation? That was a guideline for some traveling.

Businessman’s Special. I like it.

I'm thinking it is due to the impending Nor'easter.
You are probably right. I have driven on I90 during bad snow storms and that stretch through the Berkshires can be very challenging. If the game ends in a timely fashion and they are able to shower and change quickly, maybe they could be on the bus by 6 pm. Probably are going to stop for dinner in Syracuse before heading home. Might not be on the road until 7 pm.

That is going to be a 6 or 7 hour drive home and the closer they get, the worse the storm is going to be. They will be lucky to get back to Northeastern by 2 am.

It might be a good idea to stay in Syracuse Wednesday night and start home in the daylight on Thursday. Driving home in a blizzard in the dark through the Berkshires is a recipe for disaster.

On the NYS Thruway, the mountains around Herkimer are the worst. I remember driving to Albany after the 2003 Pitt game and it was whiteout, middle of the night and I'm driving a rear wheel drive Miata. 10 mph tops.

Yes, that area has to have the steepest hills on I90 through NY.
I know that the Erie Canal had its biggest concentration of locks in that area (Little Falls) as well.
