Oh Lord That's dissappointing. The atmosphere after the 2009 NW game was great.

Also, not helping season ticket sales with 2 Friday night games, a nooner, and 2 TBD's.

Fluck.

Ugh of course, oh well I guess this means being at the Fine Lot by 9am.

Still, it is national exposure against a Big Ten opponent.

We have to win and hopefully put a lot of fannies in the seats.

Noon will reduce attendance as it always does. Both local and out of town.

Yeah, I really don't like the noon starts, but it's still SU Football and it's opening day against a solid opponent in an important season.

Maybe the SU Fans will fool us and show up!

Screw that.. I'm excited... already bought tix and will be there at 9am getting my drink on!

Board tailgate ops will commence at 0900...Fine Mess Regulars need to man their duty stations NLT 0830

BTW, Stony Brook is listed for a 1600 kickoff on Time Warner...SNY will carry it. Thanks Zibby for the link in the other thread.

it shouldnt effect either. games have been starting at noon on saturdays for over 100 years.

if a noon start, stuns the locals, then we've got bigger problems than we could possibly imagine.

the only ones it would effect is the out of towners who want to drink before the game, they will have to pop a few in the car before they get to the tailgate.

big whoop.

problem.

solved.

Regardless, the point remains. Yes we have had plenty of nooners in the past and they aren't as well attended.

Exactly.

Tailgate starts for us at 6:30 and I already can't wait.

then we have established that not only is Syracuse not a Pro town......its not a College town either.

why go to the ACC?? should just go to the patriot.

I have no doubt there are fewer out of towers also. Also, work and lids probably come first. I know it does for me when I have missed a noon game. A zillion kids play youth football and soccer. A large number of those games are Saturday AM or early afternoon. It is only in sense to realize a noon game will not be as well attended, ny locals and out of towers, than a late afternoon or evening game.

then cny is a bunch of maroons.

the capital district, downstate ny and jersey play their youth football on early saturday nights but mostly on sundays.

I think we are still looking at a decent crowd especially if its a rainy or overcast day as that will give us a bigger walk up crowd of people who we can syphen away from the Fair. The first game is always tough as the non diehards always have the Fair and good weather excuse.

So wouldn't that make you downstate folks a bunch of "maroons" also considering you care about pro football more and you're playing your games on Sundays?
