Not a sour grapes post, but the referees were terrible...

The conference puts its backing behind teams and the refs carry out that power. It's that way in every conference.

I’m surprised Alton wasn’t flagged for hitting the Clemson player 2-3 seconds after his helmet came off.

Also, while I think it was a good no-call, if Dungey took the exact same hit that knocked Lawrence out, this board would be in an absolute uproar with some posters calling for the player & even Dabo to be suspended.

Payback is a bitch.

That one confused me. I'm still not sure what that was about. What did it look like on tv?

He smacked the guy twice on the helmet.

Refs were fine. One spot I didn’t get but the only call I really thought we got boned was Riley getting held and the ball just going over his head. That was going to be a long gainer and with his quick feet and speed, who knows.

the riley call was defiantly bs the rest i chalk up as if your going to play the big boy in the league you better be ready to play disciplined there going to give you no favors thats every conference

Don't be like this. Officiating was bad but it was for both teams. What about when #3 for Clemson got held and interfered with in the end zone and it wasn't called? It happens man.
Both players were pushing on that play. Not remotely pass interference. I thought our spots were atrocious the entire game honestly, but the game wasn't officiated badly beyond that.

Then why do you bother watching? That doesn't seem very smart to me

It is what it is. That's why people are fans of the "big" teams, they get all the breaks and most things go their way. I follow Syracuse because I love the Orange. And sometimes against the power and money and refs, they overcome the odds and still get to the top.

That was a big bone job to. It was third and 6 ?. A first down there might have shut the door.

Your guy had a hold of our guy by the jersey collar and was pulling him down. It was a good no call but just as well could’ve been offensive pass interference go watch it.

I was there. I also saw it on the big screen multiple times at the game too and I didn't see that. All I know is that officiating has not been good in this league for a while now.

We almost got the win down in Bartertown, but, with much anger and sadness, I must admit you still rule Master Blaster.

Spots were awful all game long -- Clemson players would get a full half yard extra every time they went down. Not to mention Riley was held on the lofted ball over the middle and the unnecessary roughness penalty that drove the final nail into the coffin.

Probably doesn't make much difference in this game at the end, but we will never get any benefit of the doubt in the ACC.

I always figure the underdog team has to beat both its opponent and the refs. We were a 21-25 point underdog. The officials know that. So as the game progresses they wonder "how is this underdog doing so well." And they start looking for things - the result tends to be uneven penalty calling.

It's how power works. Who do you think rules Bartertown, Master Blaster, that's who.
I'm not even going to get into logical things, such as why, if this truly happens, has never in the history of college football, has it come out that a conference has ordered referees to favor one team over another? It's just another huge conspiracy theory that apparently is so popular these days.

It's about money which gives power. Clemson gets big ratings, which brings in the dough. Haven't you watched Scarface, Tony Montanyo knew who it works, "First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women".

Because a secret like this would never be exposed by any conference in all of college football, with all the referees employed over the years (forget about CBB). But have at it!

Hasn't the ACC refs had a pretty bad reputation even before we joined?
The spots of the balls where insane...

It's an understanding when you get hired anyplace that you are going to support your bosses decisions and the goals of the organisation. It's not a conspiracy.

Yeah, it is.

I didn’t have the best vantage point - I was 1,500 miles away - but I do no real big issues with the officiating. Just typical stuff. There was one play where the SU DT was clearly held, but he ended up getting the sack anyway. I hated the illegal receiver downfield call, because that was huge. But it did look like he was more than 3 or 4 yards. He was engaged with a defender, but the defender broke away to go to the WR.
