Not an Onion article...

I thought we had a “not an onion article” winner today with the average Florida LB wanting 3rd down snap guarantees. This may top it.
You can get a third DUI in Ohio (which for all intent and purposes means that you're a menace to society and are a threat to kill innocent people on the road) and it's still a misdemeanor until the 4th one.

But plant a flag on a football field that has literally no effect on anything in the universe? FELONY.

I will say the whole flag planting thing is a load of crap. Coaches should manage it though. Should be an understood rule in a program that players that try that kind of shenanigan are immediately suspended and not playing in the next game, at a minimum.

I try not to make fun of the Great State of Ohio, but then they go ahead and do things like this and it makes it so hard.

I think Ohio just passed a law that requires liquor stores to open bottles before you leave. So this seems to track given their nanny state tendencies.

Unless it was Kyle McCord for us.

Pffft.
This is what college football is all about. Pride, dedication, connection to your university and Win.
If your butthurts so much when the flag is plànted, just win baby! If it hurts that bad Mister turn your head and let the kiddos make memories.
How Sad?

Its a game, they should be embarressed.
Also, înviting fans to do it to see how pathetic they really are.

"No person shall plant a flagpole with a flag attached to it in the center of the football field at Ohio stadium of the Ohio State University on the day of a college football competition, whether before, during, or after the competition."

So if I have the flag in a planter already and just leave the planter on the field then I'm good?

They better define what a flagpole is because I see people already finding loopholes around that.

Center is pretty specific, too. I mean, you would have to be pretty darn accurate to pierce the center directly. Just go 2 yards over to be safe, all good.

Thank God Iwo Jima did not have a similar law. Otherwise, we would never have had this:

And Ohio considers this a felony.

Plant the pole, then attach and raise the flag. Followed the letter of the law. Also, define flag. Is a pennant a flag? Are Maze and Blue Streamers a flag. T-shirts? Where exactly is the center of the field? So the end zone would be okay. Lawyers love stupid legislation.

Ohio, the only state I’ve been to where I could buy food, beer, hard alcohol, fireworks, army surplus and firearms all in one small general store
