Not only will the ACC Not Implode...

I think Miami boosters are far more realistic than FSU boosters. They understand that if they get back to being good, their chances of being in the playoffs multiple times in a decade are much higher in the ACC than the SEC or BT. And that is what they want - far more than they want to get the biggest TV money.
I hope they understand that

People still think the schools actually care about winning more than the $. Schools for the last decade or so have joined the B10 and SEC knowing their chances of winning a national championship drops significantly. If making the national championship and finding the best path to get there was “the most important goal”. All these schools joining the B10 and SEC recently would have been asking to join the ACC. In order for Miami to make B10 $ they need to win a championship every year. Or they could just suck in a higher paying conference every year and make the same money. Schools might say they want to win but their decisions are purely about $. Or everyone would be begging to join the ACC but instead everyone’s dying to leave.

See ButtGirls, their ceiling is a 6 win bowl game

And MD isn’t far behind. Texas and Oklahoma too in a different way. Joining the SEC made their chances of getting to a national championship, when they joined, very rare. Their path was far easier staying where they were.

Implosion especially if they have their semi-final games on Thursday and Friday? What is that? I never miss a game. I just assumed they were on Saturday only to be scrolling X to find out the game was played. So mad. Ratings must have sucked

The point of my comment is that I just don't believe that their success means that the ACC will be more successful.

If their football program is able to experience multiple consecutive years of success - which is possible but not guaranteed - you could argue that, overall, the ACC benefits from this. I just don't think Miami's success guarantees that the rest of the ACC will be in a better position (i.e. getting more money).

I think their success means that they get a bigger bag. That's all.

This is predominantly what college football is right now - how do I get the biggest amount of money possible? Don't really care where.
Their success helps the conference only if other teams also step up so we're not a 1 team conference. And some of that needs to happen in the early season non-conference games. Those games establish the annual perception of the conferences the rest of the year. It's one reason I hate that every conference is going to 9 conference games.

That will be a slugfest. Both teams have really good line play.
Coaching acumen highly favors Indiana here so I still go with them. Still gotta get through Oregon though which I think they do.

BTW anyone see the espn article on Cignetti and recruiting. Excellent read. “Production over Potential.”

Agreed, that and QB skill. But if Miami can keep having 13+ play drives like yesterday that will make a huge difference

MD was in dire financial straits. They needed every extra dime they could get to make up for the poor decision-making by Kay Yow as AD. Even if the move didn't get them as much money as promised, if it got them more than what they'd get by staying in the ACC, they felt they would be coming out ahead.

I wonder how healthy they are. The seemed to have some guys dinged up when Ole Miss was moving the ball better in the second half.
They had the flu running through the team. Assuming it runs it's course, Miami should have better team stamina

They got in debt building that hideous, usually empty upper deck. The deck is super steep and cooks on warm days.

Exactly. She had a hand-picked committee to "advise" her on what to do about the stadium. They told her not to build that hideous monstrosity of an upper deck, but she did it anyway. One would think that if the people you chose to advise you (i.e., rubber-stamp your decision) tell you not to do it, it wouldn't be done. But in this case, you'd be terribly wrong.

Exactly. You’re supporting my argument. Thank you.
