Don’t assume people voting in the polls know how close Syracuse was to winning the game, which is the only way they would have broken into the top 25

Stop. We can't just demand respect. Respect is earned over time. The fact that we're 28th means we are getting more respect. We moved up 8 or 9 spots off of a loss. That's respect. We can't expect to beat awful teams, lose close to one really good team, and be ranked. We're right there.
This sounds like "trophy generation" talk. We weren't good enough this week, and we don't get, or want a participation trophy.

I don’t mind not being ranked based off our recent history and the fact we need to prove we’re for real and not another 4-8 iteration of a team showing promise without results.
No idea how Virginia Tech gets ranked over us though. Clear example of street cred, of which we need to build.

They clearly didn't fall far enough down the rankings after that ODU disaster. They should be just getting back into the "others receiving votes category."

Well actually, you do. Syracuse went up 8 or 9 spots. They just didn't move far enough up to get in.

I think the pollsters gave us plenty of respect following this game. We did move up to 28th in the extended polls. This puts us right where we can easily jump into the top 25 after winning next week.
You have to also think the votes were taking into consideration the last few year we collapsed after a signigant event. Normally these have been huge upset wins. The voters might be scared that the heartbreaking last minute loss is this years event. Beating Pitt this weekend allows us to change that perception.
All in all I’m not really worried about polls atm. I just want to see wins upto the ND game and have that be Syracuse’s Huge win this year!

It's nice to be 28th but you don't move from there into the top 25 with a win over a bad Pittsburgh team. You still need teams above you to lose. Colorado, Florida, NC State, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State and Boise State are the teams ranked in the 21-25 area n the two polls. Root against them.
Colorado is playing 3-2 Arizona State at home.
Florida is playing 5-0 and 5th ranked LSU at home. Come on Ed!
NC State is playing 4-1 Boston College at home. We'll get our own crack at them later.

Gonna be tough (for me) rooting for (barf) ND and ASU. Is it better or worse for us if VaTech beats ND? (The conference as a whole is really getting slammed for being weak)
