But if you think our offense is bad watch TCU vs TTU ... TCU finally put a TD on the board to tie the game in the 4th quarter ... TTU is only sticking 4 in the box and TCU can't run on them very well ... this is the same TTU squad that gave up about 450 yards to SMU just last week ... and we all know B12 teams aren't exactly defensive stalwarts ...

Due to an injury, TT starts a walk on true freshman at QB. His backup, who had to play after another injury, is a scholarship true freshman.

Can you imagine?

In the Nassib years, I had the impression that if a backup QB had to play, the audible was to a play where he would take the snap and run immediately to the sideline and out of bounds.

In a related game note, another celebration football drop before crossing the goal line. If I'm Shafer I show it to the team and say if you're looking for the fastest way off this team, try this. Also show the defense and say if you ever see a ball on the ground after what appears to be a TD you gave up, pick up that ball or jump on it.

these air raid schools are perfect for developing qbs fast - fast practices, throw all the time, all qbs getting reps.. disastrous for defenses though

i know TT didn't have a good day on offense but all things considered

it's too bad teams can't split up their defenses and offenses. offense practices against defenses not on your schedule that need to face air raid. your defense travels to practice against someone that throws the ball.

Still though, TT only gave up 10 points. 401 yards, 200 yards rushing, but only 10 points. I didn't really watch too much of the game, so I can't comment on the reason for that disparity. But maybe the answer for air raid teams to just play back, keep everything in front of you. Opponent eats up yards, but tighten up at the end and try to create more 3s against you than 7s. Knowing you can easily outscore that.

Last night TT literally tried to stop the run with 4 down linemen ... they dropped 7 back and dared TCU to throw .. TCU should have been able to run the ball down their throat and couldn't.

I doubt they'll be ranked. They didn't even get any votes last week (AP Poll). They'll get votes this week, but unless more teams between 20 and 25 fall this week, then I can't see them jumping everyone. AP voters know that's a team playing 2 true freshman QBs. No rush to rank.
