86-89 would’ve run every other team outta da gym. 2003...maybe notWell, I’d also consider the 88-89 team that finished 30-8 and lost in the Elite 8. It included Douglas, Coleman, Thompson and Owens. During the 86-91 period, SU had 5 No. 2 seeds and one No, 3 seed.
I wasn't alive for it but even though they had a lot of talent those late 80s teams lost a lot of games.
Talent doesn't always win.
We can debate “best”, but the 2010 team played the most beautiful basketball of any SU team I ever followed. That team was a work of art.
