Not to get to far ahead but looking at the 2024 Schedule

I'm very excited for that Army game in West Point next year. I've never been to West Point before but everyone who watches a game there seems to love it.
Do we have a date for that game? Maybe that will be my fall trip back east, if there is another fall trip to be had after this year.

And we lost every one of those games. I think we win against Penn State and possibly USC in the Dome.
That 2012 USC team was weird. They were preseason #1 but finished with a worse record than we did that year (they were 7-6 and we were 8-5).

If I recall, we had a 1 point lead early in the 4th quarter in that one?

They went up 21-3 and it looked like it would be a blowout. We came back and made it as close as 21-16 but they ended up winning 42-29. And there was that long weather delay mid-game.

The school wants to do what Arkansas does playing a game in Little Rock every year.

They haven't played anyone good there in over a decade I think they used to go for 2 games there.

As long as they are willing to skip a year when it doesn't make sense and its programs like Uconn or we schedule it as a neutral site I think its OK. Play BC there. Army neutral site. Maybe even Umass. Only so many options.

I wonder if we could get the cancelled Wisconsin series back with a game in Chicago and one in NYC?

It makes sense for state universities, sometimes.

The location for the Uconn game is still showing TBD. With SU only playing six home games this year and six home games in 25 and 26 I really hope were not agreeing to this game being at Uconn again or at some neutral site like Yankee stadium. I have a suspicion were bound to be disappointed.
UConn isnt sure if it will be at the Rent or Storrs High.

We’re playing UConn in Palo Alto.

I wouldn't be surprised if we agree to play them at Gilette at some point. Wouldn't be the worst decision if we are looking to create some regional buzz for our program where we get recruits annually. I think it would irritate BC if we did that which would be a bonus for UConn/Syracuse

If Wildhack moves another home game to a neutral site it will be my personal mission to get him fired. Have not stood by 'Cuse football for 15+ years to be treated like chit by the AD and putting our football program at any unnecessary disadvantage is ridiculous. We have enough of those as it is.
He said repeatedly early on in his tenure he would not move home games to neutral sites for paydays like Gross. With Pitt, he's gone back on his word. I question his credibility.

I don’t know if he had a choice not to move it

Who could it be then? He is the top man in the athletic department. Could it be Syverud or the BOTs who told him to move it for the $? I'd be interested in who you thought told him to move it.

The ACC is my guess, unless the money is so outrageous we would be stupid not to move it

Neutral site regular season games in college football are stupid. Takes away the point of the sport.

Outside of early season tournaments and a select few venues it’s stupid in college basketball, too. I’d much rather play Oregon in a home-and-home than one time in South Dakota.

World's largest cocktail party? The Texas Fair game (Red River shootout I think?).

If they are done right, they are fantastic. I've been to last 2 Irish games and those were fantastic events to attend. We've been saddled with atrocious neutral games at crappy Metlife and even crappier new Yankee Stadium. Those stadiums are just antiseptic, no buzz around those stadiums pregame, etc.

If we played at Fenway Park we'd look at it differently

And yet there will still be people here claiming we overschedule.
In a perfect world, we could somehow take either Tennessee or Notre Dame from 2025 and put them in 2024 to balance both out.

2024 is borderline embarrassing and 2025 is too tough now that the Vols are actually good. I'm a fan of the one high profile + two mid-major + 1 FCS game format OOC approach.

That said, I can't wait to be in the ATL for that Tennessee game.
