Notes for FAN FEST

PLEASE PM ME with your account number to verify you are all set for the Fanfest BBQ!!

TexanMark is In!!!!

My first FanFest ever!
We'll be there with family in tow. Is there a FM 'gate before-hand, I would assume somewhere around the Manley complex instead of stadium West?

Nice idea...I think so. We'll hoist a 10th MTN Flag.

Sounds good. If we're meeting near Manley, I assume the location will be obvious (in the parking lot). LMK if it's something different. I'm not a big "ribs" fan (the ones I've tried have been fatty and greasy), and I'm pretty sure the kids won't want ribs. So I'd prefer FM food if we wind up doing something. Looks like the rib fest runs from 4-6, with the scrimmage to follow. So that's plenty of time to graze both and do some catching up. Anxious to hear what your sons are up to lately -- maybe a fly-by at the fanfest by an unmanned drone. ;)

I expect we'll get there about 45 mins early and open up a cooler (Cuseregular and myself are driving down from the Point)...BYOF

Reed: Check your PM

will do.

What time does it start? We will be in town but have a 5pm commitment.

All - sorry it's been a crazy week, we're moving offices. I think I have caught up with everyone asking for the confirmations. Also we are sending a mass email next week so you will get another verification (or if I missed you!)

Thanks guys

I for one am super stoked for fan fest. I never miss fan fest, or the spring game, but let's be honest... Neither one is ever over the top exciting.
Last years fan fest was the best we'd seen in years, at least in my opinion since they used to have the food and player introductions inside Manley. I'm not sure how much we can thank Coyle for this years upgrade but whether or not it was his input it is definitely looking like a good time.

I've said for a couple years that it would be nice to see the Football wing. CHECK

I've always missed the food they used to have there, when lately we've just gotten free ice cream sandwiches etc. CHECK

Wouldn't it be nice to see the new IPF?? CHECK

Kid fun, and stations for some of the other sports similar to last year? CHECK

Sideline pass for STH to the football practice? CHECK

I'm not sure what it is, but there is something called soccer happening there too.

But, being the pessimist, there is one thing that needs to change for the kids... There is only ONE correct way to have meet and greets with the players/coaches afterward. You cannot have multiple tables, or spread out selfie stations. What you get is a mass of people at Shafer, or Hunt, or Paulus a few years ago, and no one with other players. So in the slotted 20 minutes or so, your kid doesn't get Hunt, but gets the third string somebody. The proper way, which is often seen at the hardwood dinner: ONE long table + pile of posters + sign it and slide it down to the next guy + one way in, and one way out = everyone gets everyone's signature. This is the formula for happy youth fans.

Please use this method in the future. I've seen too many thirty or forty something's reaching over little kids for their chance at getting their ball, or poster signed.

They used to do the one long table about 3/4 years ago...well not one table, but they had the players in a square/rectangle so you could move through and get them all on a poster.

Exactly. It's not perfect, but that's what I mean. It works folks. COUGH COYLE COUGH

Hardwood Club Dinner = 12 autographs. Football team = 80+ autographs.

If you get 4 autographs a minute, it'll take at least 20 minutes for the 1st person to make it through the line.

So a few people get all 80, some people get 70, some get 60, and some can't even get to the start of the line before time runs out.

Yes that all makes sense. But you have to admit, even the way they've been doing it doesn't work with an allotment of twenty minutes before the air horn goes off and they start to leave.

There's got to be a way!!!

At least everybody gets a selfie with somebody.

Some kids get Hunt, some get Estime, some get Ishmael, some get Riley Dixon, etc...

Or they could skip the scrimmage, and just sign autographs for two hours. :p

Haha I love the format, everyone runs to the star offensive players. In the meantime my kids have autographs from Shamarko, Chandler, Justin, Art, etc. Keep running to those QBs!!!!! Puhretty Pleeze!
