My suggestion cancel the Syracuse-ND at Metlife. I could careless if we play these games. Notre Dame has 13 games scheduled for 12 spots. Notre Dame should boot Purdue from the schedule because they aren't a supposed conference mate, but I bet Wake Forest gets the boot. Crap this like really grinds my gears. I would love if our Metlife games with ND never happened, but since they will be de facto ND home games they will make Wake Forest take the boot instead of a B1G rival.

If they want to pad their record, they'll keep WF and drop us.

If they play 6 ACC games in 2015, I don't see why this is all that big of a deal.
ND has a contract to play 5 games a season against ACC competition. If Wake Forest has to amend their schedule so Notre Dame can have their cake and eat it as well why doesn't ND schedule an extra ACC game as compensation. Notre Dame could boot Purdue from the schedule and have no problems. While axing Wake Forest or an ACC game isn't the end all be all why shouldn't ND boot non-ACC team if its their own fault they have to play Arizona State and its not the ACC's fault.

If they Drop Wake forest good chance they go 1-3, or 0-4 against the ACC in their first year. Their undefeated team barely beat a bad Pitt team, and they lost this year to an average Pitt team.

You're very protective of Wake Forest.

This was always going to be a short term issue because of their Arizona State contract. After 2014, I doubt this will be an issue ever again. If it is, well then, we'll have been ND'd. But I don't think we're there yet.

There's no way that they, or we, will back out of those NYC games. Big event in the big city. ND makes it much more of an event than USC or Penn State could.

its already been decided wake forest game is being made up in 2015 the wake forest ad or president was on there radio pregame last week and said as much. Notre Dame wanted to boot the Arizona state game but couldn't. Purdue isn't on the schedule after this year for a few years

This may actually be in Wake's interest too, as they'll be breaking in a new coach next season. Might want to delay this marquee matchup until they have their system in place and a better chance to make a good showing.

ND brings tremendous value to the ACC. People can bitch a bout them all they want, but the ACC is a stronger conference for having them aligned with football.

+1 You don't have to like them to want to beat them and beating them gives your reputation a boost whether you deserve it or not.

I can't wait for that Metlife game next year and am expecting Cuse to win that game and gain considerable respect with casual fans and pollsters. Its the kind of win that would move us up from a Top 45 team to a Top 30-32 team immediately. Whether Notre Dame is good or not in a particular year isn't that important or recognized by the casual fan or pollster.

They can't punt the SU game in Metlife without repercussions from Metlife.

Don't get too far ahead of ourselves... ND will have Golson back and that kid can play.

Notre Dame is suppose to play five ACC games per year. That is what Swofford said in that big press conference. I hope they hold firm and force ND to actually live up to its obligations.

Just because Swofford said it in the presser, it doesn't mean that's what is in the contract. And the contract is binding, the presser isn't. I believe the contract says 15 games over 3 years. Maybe I'm wrong. But if they play 15 games over 3 years, I don't care if it's 0-7-8.

If you are right then I can't say I have a problem. But since I haven't seen the contract and can only go by what was said at the press conference ; I will stand by what I said. You have to have accountability and credibility. Notre Dame seems to, at times, have neither. I hope they stick to a strict interpretation of the agreement.

Or do what? Kick them out of the conference?

They have a scheduling issue for ONE season. Football schedules are made years in advance. And it's not like ND hasn't already made concessions for this arrangement, they are going to sacrifice all but 3 long-time series to partner with the ACC.
