Notre Dame is getting jobbed...

That wasn't a foul on BJ. Wasn't a push out of bounds against ND earlier.

I hate ND and don't care. I'm just kind of happy we are getting the good side of bad reffing for once.

You are right! However the BJ call meant nothing, he through the ball off the ND player anyway...

Didn't Silent G travel on the play he ended up throwing the pass to BJ for the and one? I know the crowd was going crazy, however the lovely announcers never picked up on it. I thought like some of you after the Pitt and Nova game, karma is a b&*ch and it was nice to finally see us get a few breaks at the end.

The call on BJ's dunk was legit: the ref indicated that the defensive player swiped/hit the back of BJ's head on the play. That is why he made the call. Now you can debate whether being swiped in the back of the head warrants a call given the absolute battery that Xmas undergoes for the entire game with no calls, but alas it is a foul per the rules.

My point is that if those calls were made against us, we'd be screaming at the top of our lungs that those weren't fouls, and the GD refs are out to get us, as is the ACC, and the NCAA. And I'm using "we" because I'd be right there with you, and the majority of the people on this board.

It's tough to tell what's a foul on Rak and what isn't given that he tends to flail a lot, and refs have started shutting him out in part because of that (IMO). It's like the boy who cried wolf. You flail too many times, the whistles stop coming. With the god awful reffing in the NCAA right now, that absolutely does matter.

No, despite the crowd going crazy Mike didn't travel there
Good, I know they showed the replay and it was hard to tell since they only showed it once.

I only had the chance to listen to the last 6-7 minutes on SiriusXM which had the ND feed. Their announcers were incredulous.

About which? The purported travel? I honestly didn't see Mike travel. It was certainly nothing like that Pitt "person". I can understand the crowd being baffled by the BJ call because there was no contact to the arms or hands which is what you are usually looking for and frankly the swipe to the head was glancing at best.

They may have been going crazy because they thought they had fouled G on the play, thus sending our weakest FT shooter to the line. Not knowing that he has shot 80% since he changed his delivery.

the Obokoh moving screen on the BJ dunk and foul was pretty blatant. Couldn't believe they didn't call that.

Their announcers are pure comedic gold. They bleed Irish Green and make no bones about it. Matt Park is usually mostly business, but those ND guys whine like fans. Be professional, you dolts!!!

True on this but i see that pick set vs us all the time and not called just that it is in the middle of the zone where it is happening in traffic.

He got fouled by two guys prior to that with no call.

I think they let it go because he was back-pedalling, albeit slower than the ND player was trying to move.

Just so people can see both sides of how things like this work:

"Oh look, another bench scrub goes off against us"- BJ scored 19 points, most since game 1. I'm sure ND fans are saying this exact thing.

"Of course, kid who cant shoot FT's is knocking them down against us"- G, ~55% shooter, 5-6.

"Prayer shot goes in"- Cooney from the corner.

Just saying, it sucks when it happens to you, but it does work both ways, even though sometimes it doesn't look like it. And butler and osu.

No Travel shown on Mike in replay and BJ threw the ball off the Guy's Leg......

It's all frame of reference. They say "bench scrub," we view it as a young player continuing to flash sparks of great potential.

They see it as a poor FT shooter in G randomly knocking them down, we view it as a player that has gained efficiency due to a change in approach.

They view it as a prayer shot from the corner, we do the same. Both fanbases can agree on that, but it was awesome for us. And Trevor did have a big spot at the end.

Didn't read the whole thread, but I completely agree that we got many calls in our favor last night. Probably the first time that that has happened all year. The degree that we were helped was still much less than Duke/UNC were helped in their games against us, but still it felt good to have the refs on our side for once.

A banked 3 from Ron Patterson with 1 second left on the shot clock, after an outstanding defensive possession for Notre Dame would have topped all that off nicely

Couple of major improbables in that scenario.
