Where did you see that he's on campus?

He tweeted that he was about to start a new life and wasn't happy to leave home.

5 Days ago he tweeted about starting his new life.. 12 hours ago he tweeted that it was "the worst day of my life." Sounds like he may have just found out he didn't qualify.

Also his tweet said "the fact that I could be leaving". another sign that he was on the verge of qualification.

I thought that KJ was tweeting this spring that he was qualified but maybe that's what he's upset about.

He tweeted that he could be leaving the town he grew up in and spent his entire life in for good.

Meaning that he wouldn't be returning to little Bethlehem, PA anytime soon. Context is everything.

I fully expect KJ to check in sometime this weekend.

The "for good" part has little to do with whether or not he actually makes it to Syracuse this week. If it had said "the fact that i am leaving the town I grew up in for good" then I would fully agree with you. The questions arise from the uncertainty of "I could be."

neither is an impactful loss this season. raise your hand though if you were one of the 'many' who thought kj was the class' top recruit? I had him somewhere in the middle.

juco is a bad option but they not have the choice considering how low their grades are.

Do you have info on how bad their grades are? Williams graduated from his high school - I know that doesn't mean much in terms of NCAA eligibility but I would hope he's a prep school candidate. Prater may not be, given he was a long shot to begin with...

Where does that put us? I thought we were 3 over last time you recapped the numbers. Are we still +1?

We're at 86 if you count both Nassib and Cleveland.

Or we're at 84 if you don't count 'em.

Maybe they can arm wrestle for it. ;)

Maybe Joe's cousin can kick in a year of tuition for him?

Agree that if either goes Juco it's a bad sign since I've been told that it would mean an athlete is more than a test score or a 1-2 classes away from qualifying.

About 5 years ago the NCAA mandated that kids could only get credit at a prep school for 1 core course or prep for the SAT/ACT. But that "5th" year doesn't count against NCAA eligibility. So a kid going JUCO usually needs more than 1 core course. And those JUCO years count against their NCAA clock. I think that's how it works.

A kid can prep for a year, and he'd still be "5 to play 4".

A kid who goes the JUCO route has his 5 year window start immediately. If he can qualify after JUCO, he'd be "3 to play 2", or in Wayne Williams's case, "2 to play 2".

So just how bad off are our two lost sheep? :(

For some high schools, there are still summer school options available. If it's more than 1 core class, can't they take summer school to boost it too?

Yep.

After the 8 semesters of high school, you have to graduate with your class and can only be 1 core course short which you can take in the summer or the following school year at prep school. If it's not some in the summer Im gonna guess the SAT/ACT score wasn't met either.
