Now that GMac is HC, what does next year's squad look like?

It's funny, I thought everyone wanted nearly everyone gone at the end of the season, now we want nearly everyone back.

If we got an influx of cash and gerry plays a short bench, spend big on 2 impact guys, fill the rest w serviceable role players like what Miami did.

Folefac, only saw the Duke game but I thought of Quincy Guerrier, the version that JB wanted.

I mean, yeah he’s Melo’s kid, but he’s got sooooo much he needs to work on, physically & mentally.

Cuse was so underwhelming this past season. We had so many holes plus the culture was really bad. Gerry needs to blow everything up. That includes Kingz and White if we can find better talent.

I want to see 13 or 15 guys that play real defense, that dive for lose balls, that can give 40 hard minutes if asked to and are more than one dimensional on offense.

I’m ok with a full housecleaning. Wipe the losing culture away too.

We don’t want folks back. I just think people can’t think of any other names in the portal they want so they just default to who they know right now.

Folefac seems like a poor man's Jyare Davis. He can definitely be a depth piece -- but like Davis, not big / good enough to be a starter in the ACC. Right?

He is, as a depth piece. I don't even think Doty at this stage of his developmental curve is anything more than a platoon guy. I'm actually watching a replay of this sienna Duke game, he's okay, I think he can play in the ACC, but he certainly isn't a starter at this stage.

Please note, I'm not knocking either player. I hope we bring them both here so that we have as many guys who can contribute as possible. I just don't think you can rely on guys like that to be key players in the ACC.

He’s a very good 6th/7th man type where Folefac is that 9th man who can still ball when you need that physicality and player to be a menace defensively and in the paint for stretches. Both are guys that after 1 year at this level can step up to a bigger role Though too. Good additions for now and the following year too.

My hope would be that Kiyan would not “need” any NIL. I really liked Folefac, excellent defender and capable around the rim with, hopefully, an advancing skillset (jumpshot looked solid). Doty and Kingz as contributing wings allows you to focus a lot on the PG and 4 & 5 spots. Sadiq is a wildcard if he wants to stay, I liked his effort and don’t think he’s a high cost option at this point. Hoping the NIL would allow us to add 3-4 high major players.

I just want to point out that we're at the level of discourse in this thread where multiple people agree that Diawara, he of 9 minutes played, will be handed the keys to the starting 5 and is more desirable to retain than Donnie Freeman, who was All-ACC honorable mention.

It’s going to continue to be insanity. November can’t come soon enough.

He’s making that American Eagle and Celsius money ha. I think he gets paid his NIL wither way at a reasonable amount but not like he’s trying to get ina bidding war

I want Kingz back. He’s a good defender and can shoot. Started off rough but turned it around shooting. He’s versatile and a gamer. Hoping his waiver is approved.

I also want White back. He is a Gmac type kid.

We need to hit the portal and pick up 3-4 starting players from the power four. I don’t see a single player currently at Syracuse that should be a definite starter on next year’s team.

Sadiq White and the 7’ foot freshman could be a start for the bigs but need more. Doty could be a ball handler but need a better ball handler/distrubor than George.

Idk the offensive numbers are quite good for both of them and they are young. I don't think either is that good but potentially good enough to start yes

I hate to tell everyone, but the big freshman is not going to play. Reports are that he is not very good. Major project.

Best job Gerry can do for next season is to get George back to being a table setter and play with a real purpose without dilly dallying too much waiting for screens. Obviously that’s where way too much of turnovers came from. We need real wings that are explosive and can shoot and a 5 in Kyle mold.
