Until otherwise proven I’m gonna go with Gerry’s skill assessment of the players he brings in along with the GM he chooses over yours. Otherwise why the hell haven’t you put in for the GM job if you seem to know something a new coach who hasn’t even finished his staff out doesn’t?

Look around - there are a ton of much higher rated kids who have disappointed while you have lower rated freshman around smaller leagues having strong years and portaling right after.

Not picking a fight or coming after you but think you have the cart before the horse here with some of these takes.

Then I think we add one more high school player. Someone that is probably going to get released from their letter on intent for one reason or another. Then I think the rest will be transfers. Gerry’s teams were very fundamentally sound at Siena. I expect the same here where he’ll target kids with high basketball IQ. Who are fundamentally sound players with good athleticism. If we get those 6, obviously we need a good lead guard and we need a good center. Lots of holes to fill with the portal. Luckily in this era of college sports we can be a tourney team next year if we spend the money. We’ll see how much money we put up

Nice bench. Would need to portal at least 4 starters, and you better getting some shooting and some beef.

After doing some research, I'm more convinced that we can keep Betsey, which would be a good thing for us. G-Mac was his primary recruiter in HS. Given that and the fact that Betsey probably wouldn't cost a whole lot next season, I find it hard to believe he would let a 6'8" forward who shot over 40% from 3 last season walk out the door.

Betsey should pay SU to stay or move along. He plays zero defense.

He's got legit 3 point range.

And he showed range in international players, and being from Australia is fundamentally sound. Look at the women who have played for the women's team. Red had made up his mind before the season started that George and JJ were his starters.
And it was sink or swim, and we know what happened.

We cannot have three Siena guys in our regular rotation (not sure if you are saying that or just saying some of them would just be on the roster, which is fine).

Even if Kingz got a waiver, I didn't think he'd stay. If he actually would, that would be great.

We need a lead guard that is imposing and can assert his will. I'm sure Moesch is good. But he's tiny. And he's not tiny, but a top 10 player in his class.

lol I’m not saying all 3 will be. Doty and Folefac will be in the rotation though.

Then hypothetically let’s say we get Mingo. The number 1 high school PG in the country who is gonna leave UNC. Then we get a transfer big that averaged lets say 14 and 8 at his last school that was a P4 school. And a 40%+ 3 point shooter on the wing. I don’t think many people would be upset with that. With the guys I mentioned above. Then add some good rotational pieces to the team that would be good players off the bench and for the future.

Now obviously not saying all that is going to happen. And certainly not saying we get Mingo but I bet we make a strong okau for him. But I think people are underestimating Doty and Folefac a lot just because they played at Siena. These guys are good players. Tbh I have a hard time believing either would have been at Siena next year even if G-Mac was there. Some one at the P4 level would have paid them
