Now that GMac is HC, what does next year's squad look like?

Is it too early to start looking for portal signs from our current and future players Instagram posts?

George posted about 20 mins. I’m reading it as he’s out altho it’s mostly pics of him in orange.

I can also go into the details about his picture of vegeta from dragonball Z as well but I doubt people care about that here.
No, we need a thread on that! What’s a Vegeta? Is that a new vegan smoothie maker? 🤣

err..ah, where were we? Oh yeah! Tate George. No! Nait George! Yeah.

I like that Gmac mentioned European prospects in one of his interviews. That will be key. I think it would be smart to actually make that a real focus and hire someone with great recruiting and scouting ties over there. Illinois, Virginia, Michigan and Arizona (Tommy Lloyd is the best international recruiter) all have key guys from Europe on their teams and all had great success. I was hoping Red was gonna focus more on building that, though we did get Fennell from Australia.

Would like a return to recruiting Philly/Baltimore/New England and some NYC. Grab the dudes that’d rather lose a leg than lose a basketball game.
Is that even a thing now? Recruiting in those areas when many kids are attending prep schools away from their hometowns. Cuse had to go to Indiana to recruit Starling instead of right in the back yard.

Definitely. I mean we’ll always need to keep a foot inside the aau/prep school circuits but theres still talent and grit in the public schools too.

I LOL’d at this. It’s so true. I’m in Philly and see this attitude playing men’s slow pitch softball. I’m competitive, but natives to this area are insane. You’d think we were playing in the World Series. Guys out here with some serious physical injuries and still play even though they can barely run, throw, and/or swing a bat. I got ragged on for not playing because I tore my calf and was in a boot for 2 months 😂

Could you be anymore negative. If it wasn’t outside the family not a good hire. They went for Shertz didn’t hit, Hodgson turned out to not be the guy. Now it’s Gmac and you hope he does well but being inside the family unlikely.
i got ridiculued and slammed almost universally on this board for calling out the obvious last offseason during the roster buildout - size wins in basketball, esp in the frontcourt...i was one of the few. EVERYONE was saying small ball is where its at now...but look at illinos, michigan duke etc all these teams ARE TALL AF

i was right! the board was wrong

this years frontcourt with kyle and donnie was soft af and got bodied the out of games consistently in the ACC

kyle is a fan favorite and had cool dunks and a great personality but he simply didnt work as center 1 2 and 3 all by himself. he coulda been a great platoon option at center ...esp off the bench...not as the only center

dont get me started on suaree

sienas frontocurt was better than autrys last year anyway...so gerry gets it...and im glad.

if that is "too negative" for you...oh well

im tired of watching ineptitude for the last 10 years...and im gojng to keep calling it out wherever i see it

and idk What you talking about i have never posted 1 time about needing an outside hire

Top of the market PG and C as well as high ranking shooter. A guy like Blyden from Toledo and maybe a 5 man like the Charlotte kid, although 6-11 with size and more mobility being ideal if one such high ranking portal entry is available would be my preference. If Moesch can play above his ranking and surprise then great but I want 4 or 5 bal handlers total and not bank too much on him for even backup minutes.
Blyden would be awesome. Got to believe the Big 10 schools will be all over him. Toledo's center, Austin Parks, would be a nice piece too. Would probably come cheap and would be a nice bench backup. 6'10 250 and very efficient around the rim. averaged 11 points 6 rebounds this year.
