I honestly see no point in getting hung up on how many stay. Focusing on retention first from Gerry was pure coach speak to not push anyone away before conversations took place.

If he does great if not then it’s one more spot to fill. These kids loved Red which of course helped get them here but if they aren’t on board for a program and staff that is going to demand more then we move on.

I really hope Gmac makes a concerted effort to recruit top European players. Illinois, Arizona, Virginia, Michigan, Gonzaga, and so many others are succeeding big time with this approach. Can we hire an assistant to focus on recruiting international players?

Of course same reason I want to keep him but he’s not unique or a kid you can’t replace who has athleticism and plays hard on both ends. Keeping him would be great.

Sadiq is one of the classic cases of keep him if you don’t overpay. Maybe even hope he takes a pay cut to stay.

Honestly we all like the athleticism and hustle but in GMacs system we need high IQ frontcourts that are great passers and rebounders. I think Sadiq has some of that but also how many dumb technicals did he have.

He’s also nowhere near ready to be the man at the 4 in ACC play so we’re gonna have to hit the portal for the 4 anyway.

Ehhhh doesn’t mean anything. Northern Colorado went 12-20 with Dalton Knecht.

We can’t win relying on Siena’s players as starters. Devo wasn’t wrong. Maybe Doty can be rotation.

He has to get the best guys he can and get wins.

I completely understand why people say this, and I respect what Doty has done, but I miss having a shooting guard who is excellent at shooting.

Not until Tuesday when the portal opens. Players announcing their "intention" to enter the portal, but nothing can happen until it officially opens on Tuesday.

I also want guys who make it to the NBA. We have to have a mix of players. If they can find it all in one great but we need to level up our talent in a major way. IMO. We haven't put a player in the NBA Draft in a long time. Probably a direct correlation to that and our programs' decline.
