Now that GMac is HC, what does next year's squad look like?

Guess what? I don't care. He was player of the year in the Nepsac and produced against elite HS/AAU competition for two years. This isn't some kid playing against bum upstate NY kids.

Look forward to when the early reports on Moesch, 3M and Siby start flowing in so we can start getting a better feel for what to expect. Still hoping Gerry can muster getting us an overseas or even over the border summer tour set up.

I feel like that what kind of makes this fun in a way, all the unknowns make it for a great tv show no matter what way it goes lol

Yeah this is what’s enjoyable. As will be the Ethan Cole like reports on Goodrick at some point…. ( not knocking him and hope he is serviceable). No more highlight videos left worth watching time for real intel.

some of yall have become increasingly egotistical, emotional and insufferable over the last few weeks. 5 stars bust sometimes, 3 stars severely outplay their rankings sometimes. The rankings can be wrong sometimes but they still show a clear picture of where a majority of the talent will come from. Theres a reason only 5-10% of 4 stars make the nba and only 20-30% will become an all conference performer in college. Outliers can always happen in both directions. Moesch is a 4 star, played in a top league and competed ar the top of said league. I don’t like or trust going into the year as him being the backup 1 because the odds of that working out as a freshman are low, but it’s not impossible. It’s a combination of things for me besides just how Moesch will perform. All the other “what ifs” or banking on improvements at so many different spots is scary because the odds aren’t in your favor that a majority of that will play out in your way. We’ve all heavily discussed the lack of shooting and that’s not his game, nor is it duals game so finding a balance of offense at the 1 looks concerning right now. If defenses are continually collapsing on our lead guards when they attack, especially in the PNR, with the lack of current supported evidence of shooters to spread the court, where will that lead? There’s reason for concern and there’s reason for optimism it’s just concerning when you leaving everything to so many what ifs, but that’s also the state your program is put into when you have an unknown coach at this level. The talent will matter, but how the talent is pieced together and coached will matter just as much.

Since you’re mentioning %’s. One that I keep posting is how rare it is for college players that shot it well from 3 to shoot it as well or better than the prior year.

I mean we obviously saw this with Kingz and Bell.

As some of the OG posters here like to say Defense travels.

So if you are playing a game of %’s in the portal then you could get really burned just looking at 3 point %’s because rarely do college kids shoot at an elite level 2 years in a row from 3

I suspect a large amount of the frustration in the "we'll see" nature of this roster is that we were led to believe that hiring GMac would unlock loads of NIL money. And that money would enable us to acquire more sure-fire talent.

Maybe the money we've spent on the int'l players and low/mid majors will reap huge dividends. It's just impossible to count on it when we have no idea how their games will translate at the P5 level.

And let's be honest, many of us are carrying around a decade of PTSD from people here saying everything was fine... when it decidedly wasn't fine.

Now that Folefac is in the fold, we need to use the remaining resources on a PG who can shoot.

Depth is very, very solid other than at PG.

Point Guard: Dual / Moesch
Shooting Guard / Small Forward: Doty / Tobiason / 3M / Kiyan
Power Forward: White / Folefac
Center: Wilson / Goodrick / Siby

Moesch is the only one I am not sure will play consistently this year. Maybe Siby.

Otherwise, we go multi-deep at every position besides PG.

Cool? Not a single person gives a flying rats behind besides freakazoids like you
I can’t fix that one. Incoherent is the nicest comment I can provide.

Edit. Oh snap! You fixed it while I was quoting it. I’ve never seen that before. Good on you!
