Now that the Post Standard has published their story

Chilis would work on anyone, their menu is delightful.

It works alright... on the your digestive tract at lightspeed.

It's right up there with Mc'Ds... just make sure you have a toilet nearby for the first 15 minutes after the meal.

What you mentioned was unrelated to the topic being discussed, and addressed a point that nobody even made.

Hopefully that clears things up for you.

Yes, I'm sure I did something wrong. How dare I offer to drive 4 hours ( both ways) and take two people out to lunch. All the while, where there was nothing at all in it for me.
Yu should have asked Adam for a ride on his jet. Then someone on here could have tracked your flight coming in and then stood on the road with a sign giving you instructions on what to say and do. Then you mistake them for beggars, roll down your window and throw them a couple of quarters. Maybe then they would be happy.

No way. I took a ride on Epstein's jet and look where that got me. That was a joke board. Before I get emails.

I saw a TikTok video where a woman said that ordering the triple dipper at Chili's feels progressive, and ordering never ending soup, salad and bread sticks at Olive Garden feels conservative, and I can't argue with that.

If you mean me, you would be wrong. I have never spoked one word to the guy in my life.
You didn’t speak to him for the article? Wow, that seems like a pretty big oversight on his part in reporting the story. A key part of the piece is that you tried to broker a detente between Weitsman and the university. Carlson seems like a legit reporter, but that’s a failure on his part not to talk with you and get your perspective and verify what Weisman, Lally and others were saying about your attempt to bring the two sides together.

First it was "agita". Now it's "detente". Stop with these big words guys. It makes my Syracuse education seem less impressive when I have to keep going to the dictionary.

Carlson wasn't the only reporter on that story. Second, nothing I did had anything to do with the Lally part of that story.

I see. I thought it was just Carlson. I missed that Mike Waters was the other reporter on the piece. I would hope that one of them interviewed you before publishing.
Well, they do have me quoted at the end of the story. They didn't make that up.

And then you come on here and discuss exactly what happened fueling the fire even more maybe there’s some things that you have no idea about. And your friend/colleague has been instructed to not say a word. How about that just a thought

I can't stand when established posters share inside information, only to get ripped.

No wonder so many of them choose not to share intel / info / inside perspectives anymore.

On top of that, Dasher is a personal friend of mine, so back off. He's been discussing his involvement here, and transparent about trying to broker alignment between AW and the University for months. So that story gave him the opportunity to close the loop.

He didn't come here trying to act like he knew something, he'd openly shared [dating back MONTHS] that he was trying to see if reconciliation was possible between the two parties.

That's all.

As previously mentioned, therein lies the issue. As, "a friend of mine" is considerably different than, "a friend of ours." ;)

I could use a couple of quarters.

I never understand basement keyboard warriors ripping those that provide some information. dasher is one of the better posters on here. I just don’t get it

There's your problem. Kent is probably a brunch and mimosa guy.

It is not normal for a university president to be so isolated the he has no control over what messages he sees or who he meets with (especially at a mid-sized university). I know Nancy gets a lot of grief for being imperious, but when I needed her help with something for SU I contacted her directly and she called me right away and got to work on it. In contrast, when my wife needed to speak with Kent about something even more important, she got no response for ages (and she had a close personal connection with him). Eventually the interim provost contacted her, but she never heard from Kent.

I'm sure part of it was that he didn't want to deal with this specific issue, but no response is not acceptable. And, as others have said, it's not okay for a chief executive to live in that much of a bubble.

So dashner blue this for us all?

I don't think people here are grasping that this guy is 68 and has been a career college Dean and then Chancellor for 25 years. His contract is up in 2026 and in my opinion is not well liked and is on his way out no matter what.

People act like because these guys have a huge title that they are different than any of us. He's just running out that clock same as we would and not rocking the boat. That means not answering Dasher's messages and for sure not meeting with AW, which would 100% get blasted all over social media somehow.

At 68, less than a year away from either retirement or taking some Board seat at some other company where he does nothing the rest of his life he literally does not have to do anything. If that means telling his admin assistant just to ignore certain topics like AW then it is what it is. Honestly I might do the same in that position.

*I think the guy is a hack but he is the same hack that 99% of Universities and Corporations have running them so can we stop being so shocked.
