duel and moesch are pgs. but to your point about positionless basketball, we can throw doty and tomiason into the mix at pg. i've heard or read more than 1 analyst talk about their abilities to initiate the offense. especially doty. not just as secondary ball handlers but as the initiator. like jb said, if the other team isn't applying heavy pressure, even paulie could bring the ball up. and any minutes that doty or tomiason can give us at "pg", allows us to get another 2/3 on the court at the wings. doty, tomiason, 3m and kiyan are all wings. to have 3 of them on the court at once for some number of minutes may not be a bad thing. and that's not a knock on duel who i think will be very good. just another option at Gerry's disposal.
GMac indicated pretty clear as well, in the Rothstein pc that he really likes the interchangeable players for PG already. So some people *not you Bees) might want to get good with the fact GMac may be all done on PG needs.

yup. after what we've seen at PG the past decade, Doty will look like a star PG feeding the entry compared to recent history...

If our plan is playing a guy who avg 8 ppg at mcneese 40 min, we are in trouble and I like dual.
Dual is a defensive minded, pass-first PG so scoring wasn't important him. But he had 15 against Michigan and scored 16 in their NCAA tourny game so he can score, it's just not the best part of his game. Players that don't score a lot of points can still positively impact a game. I think GMac and his staff believes Dual is one of those players.

Hughes was seen as a player with a high upside when he transferred here. You can look at the thread on this forum. And during his redshirt season, there was definitely buzz about his potential impact the following year.
I remember several Syracuse.com articles comparing him to Wes, and him and Southerland posting funny memes on Instagram about "Free Elijah." We definitely knew at the time he was a good one
If you look at the recruiting thread for Hughes, most of the posts were actually more on the negative side before or around the time he signed. Sure, a few people knew, but I don’t think the buzz started until he began practicing with the team.

I mean, no coach should be “all done” with trying to procure as much talent as possible at all times. There’s an abundance of talent on the international market, so our coaches should always be looking there for options, as Gmac has said. Virginia added Thiis De Ridder in early June last year.

GMAC was a big fan of the Devo/Andy/MCW/G years where we had less than true 1G. We need 10-11 guys that are fundamentally sound skill players. We will have that. If your offense always starts with 1 guy up top, you stagnate as you note

He's terrific defensively, but I keep getting bad flashbacks to Carlos. People said we were fine, we don't need to add another pg.

Well, not to beat a dead horse, but Michigan’s offense always started with Cadeau up top, and stagnated all the way to the national championship.

We will be adding another point guard. Remember where you heard it.

White has NBA potential, Tomlison has NBA potential, according to media both Euros have NBA upside, Folefec has potential, Anthony we will see, Doty has 3 years left. I guess no 1st rounders right now but potential.
I nearly replied that Doty only has 2 years left, but then realized with the 5 for 5 we could have guys like Doty, Folefec, and Tobiason for 3 more years and guys like Kiyan, and possibly White (doubtful) for 4 more years. Obviously some could possibly seek bigger bags elsewhere or go pro, but the possibility of mass retention for 3 or more years could be huge if GMAC proves his chops and the guys he’s brought in are the “right guys”. I think player development, building strong relationships, and retention of your key guys are the way to build in this NIL era when SU clearly can’t compete financially with the blue bloods. If they do it right and start winning the money will follow and we’ll be back in the mix as a top tear program.

tobiason will be the go to guy. and he'll do very well imo. if you haven't already take a look at his so called NBA draft workout and the comments. he'll be fine.
We’ll see. A lot more to worry about here than people think.

I like that also. Saying that, I live in CT with a lot of UCzonn fans. When they struggled it was often for the need of a pure point guard
