Wheatley had a sack or TFL on D, I forget which. Shafer isn't very good IMO. FM has looked bad tonight. Bville should be up by 2 more scores if not for penalties.

Someone posted a link awhile back to some data that showed a higher percentage of FG's are made after calling those timeouts than when not. Plus you take away the chance for a bad snap like we just saw. That's the 2nd time I have seen that happen this year. Forget icing the kicker.

"Marginally advantageous." They might just as we'll get the entire defense to yell "Noonan!" Before he kicks. Probably would yield the same margin.

i think it is one of those meathead coaching things, where the gorilla coaches saw it work once so now they think it is the right call every time, they think they are being clever. from a philosophical standpoint it makes no sense, you could argue that you are giving them a second chance. it is somewhat mind boggling how dumb football coaches are, although football is a meathead game so i guess it makes sense.

On UL's late TD in reg, their split end (#14) was clearly over the line of scrimmage.

I was at this game. Cold and wet! But was surprised how many people were there on a dreary night. Funny though that at the start of the 2nd half, it looked like no one was there...everyone under cover as rain fell again. But they were all back and loud by the 4th quarter, despite more rain, which was a very exciting quarter. Bridgewater definitely off at times but did well late (over 400 yards thanks partly to long touchdown run after short pass late in 4th). UofL's D is still questionable despite the picks. Although it might have been the right call, worst perceived call during the game (including me) was the play where the Cincy punt returner fumbled the punt and he recovered in his end zone for a touch back when we all thought it was a safety. Man, was the crowd pissed and booing the refs after that. Overall, fun game, crappy weather.

One of the best parts of the game was at a timeout (commercial) where they introduced this lady who lost both legs in a large tornado in southern Indiana back on March 2. She threw herself overtop her kids to protect them when the tornado hit her house. Very nice ovation from the crowd.
