Used to have to walk by there every day for work. The Cage is awesome to watch hoops (or play if you got some skills and/or courage).
Back in the day, I worked on Broad St and would walk all the way home to the upper west side via Broadway.
The Cage always had pros around like Stephon Marbury, Anthony Mason, Tracey McGrady, watching if not playing in the games, especially on weekends. Memories.

Wow. That is a long long walk (and takes you through a bit of everything Manhattan has).

The Knicks are having a free hoops clinic at the west 4th court. John Wallace is going to be playing at approximately 5pm.
John Wallace will also be playing in the annual jockeys vs trainers basketball game in Saratoga on Aug 3th. He will be a ringer for the jockeys.

I'd do it 2-3 times a week, maybe catch the 7 or 104 bus if I got tired.
Of course I was alot younger then , and the city was always vibrating with typical NYC energy, from Houston to 14th, 34th, 42nd, 59th, 72nd and 96th. And it was a great way to relieve stress from the lousy bank job I had at the time.
