I agree with your first line. We have to prove we can throw the ball.

I think you put too much stock into the spreads. If they were always correct, we'd all be retired.

Also don't really agree with your last line. Achieving a perfect balance doesn't mean anything, you have to take what the opponent gives you, but be able to do both. And 300 yards these days would put you at #120, with UMass. Cast down with the sodomites, as Warden Norton would say. (but ahead of Clemson).

I think Vegas has completely marginalized us until there is some consistency. Our loss vs Rutgers and win vs Liberty were two weird games to get any feel for. We certainly have a good defense but our offense is terrible minus one player. I think this game will determine if our point spreads normalize into ACC play. a convincing 30-14 win against FSU will do that

I've been thinking about this all week, since I saw the stats on ESPN. The one that stood out was pass yards allowed by FSU: 282.8 per game! I'm expecting to see Tommy play.

We were packed to finish last in the conference, no? So Vegas can't figure out us being 3-1.

Yes, we're mediocre. So are they. A road win would not just go a long way toward changing public perception, but also getting us one step closer to a bowl.
