OC Hire Timeframe

I certainly hope the OC hire is made as soon as possible. I looked back to see when the last Coordinator hires were unofficially announced / leaked:

OC Gilbert - January 11, 2020
DC Arnett - January 11, 2020
DC White - February 4, 2020

This is an important hire that you don’t necessarily want to rush, but given the portal, we need someone sooner rather than later.

Are candidates from bowl-bound teams going to be available before January?

Pick off a QB/O-coordinator coach from FCS like James Madison, Delaware, or G5 like Western Kentucky's OC, or UTSA QB coach...Someone young and dynamic, and where there's a pretty big step up in terms of competition and pay...Bob Stoops went to East Carolina for Lincoln Riley, and look what happened there...

I don’t know but my feeling is DB already knows who it’ll be. I’m sure he didn’t decide against Pitt he needed to make a change at OC. He knew it already and I can’t imagine he waited to start figuring out who the next guy would be. We might not know for a few weeks or so but I bet he knows.

If not, that’s another thing to be concerned about in a long list.
