Which of these three is the bastard child most programs? Yes the unanimous conclusion is Special teams. Yet this part of the game in many cases decides the winner and losers in many games. Go look at return yardage e.g. punt and kick say for the last ten years. No progress has been shown. The kicking game hasn't been bad as in punts and fgs

Agree.

Special team play (or lack of it) has cost us a number of games the past few years, IMHO. My hope is that more emphasis is placed on this component of football's blessed trinity when camp starts.
