Offense nugget from recruit

i'm looking forward when you go back to not caring about the bills.

What's with Bills fans being immediately unhappy and chasing results. I would think that in particular for you, you would realize that freaking out and wanting to fire the staff after two years with improvement is ridiculous.

Still find it funny that you are miserable either way.

i plead guilty to chasing results.

bills fans immediate unhappiness with coaches has really hurt them, look at all those greats they've let walk away like williams mularkey jauron and gailey

Chasing results is a sure fire formula to go broke.

Not all first two years are equal. You have to get past the emotion, and it looks like management wants stability.

BTW, they should draft Bryce Petty and pick up a vet free agent/trade.

i don't like petty as a pro - i'm skeptical. i'm fine with them drafting him though, keep chasing results at QB until you find someone. you don't have as much to say about the watkins trade anymore, interesting

don't really care whether they keep orton or get some other vet, they'll be in the same boat either way

Watkins?

They won't be drafting at the top so Mariotta is off the table regardless if they had the pick or not. If Winston were to fall down the board, you really think picking another FSU QB in the first round would be a good idea? Are there any other first round QB's in the draft?

Haven't watch Baylor all the much this year, more last year, seems like a decent athlete, good size. Don't know about his arm. Knows how to run a fast offense, doesn't need to huddle up, unlike the guy that is playing now.

What I do know is that he hasn't been reliant on his running ability. Pocket guy that can move a little, which is how to be successful in the NFL.

Team could be pretty good. Priorities, upgrade at QB, get a LG.

if there's no qb where they would've been in the first round, they still could've drafted o line or tight end and been just fine with the next best rookie WR

petty's dropped off this year. baylor has masked their offense slipping by going for so many 4th downs. if i had to pick between him and hundley if they were there, i'd go hundley. n zone stinks but numbers are still as good as petty's.

no matter how bad a WR is you still have to cover him. line him up out at the sideline and it's one less defender your running QB needs to deal with seems easier than bringing in tight end and hoping he's good enough to block the guy he brought in the box just seems easier for bad players to line up far away from the ball vs putting them near it and hoping they can block (i'm not saying everyone's bad - just pretending for the sake of argument here) franklin's point was about bringing people in the box. you don't want to bring a defender in the box unless you can flatten him

I'd put a higher probability on a TE being a serviceable blocker vs a slow WR getting open (see: last 2 years).

if you spread WR out wide to run, they don't need to get open. they just need to exist near the sideline, you have to cover them

if you bring a TE in to block in order to run, he needs to block.

it's easier to stand out of the way than block someone out of the way

that's why it was so infuriating to me that we'd do everything right getting defenders out of the box and then STILL throw a bubble screen

you need some good WR to throw and you need some depth to go fast, but you don't need 4 guys to get open
