Maybe...maybe in the last 10 games I have watched, I have seen one called. I absolutely don't recall ever seeing so many offensive pass interference calls in one game...like my whole life. I think like 5 were called. Absolutely bizarre.
While I am at it, the reverse on the targeting call on Cook. Didn't the Duke DB like forearm shiver Cook in the head? Then hit with his shoulder ? I mean that was one of the hardest hits to the head I have seen in a while.

Not "helmet-to-helmet"

We got the double whammy. No targeting and a fumble.

Must have been basketball refs doing the game.

It’s just like the TN game in 1998. Until that game we had never seen a ref call a penalty for pants above the knee. They called it TWICE in that game, both times against us, and both times at key moments in the game. We know how that went.

They called the fumble because Cook’s knee came down on the defender’s shoe right before he got cold cocked in the head and lifted back up. The fumble was legit. The hit was highly questionable and could have injured him. For that reason alone something should have been called. Someone here already said it, if the refs are going to overturn every targeting penalty they call, why bother calling it?

Duke was whistled twice for OPI on there first drive resulting in a FG rather than 1st and goal. listening on the radio matt park initially called it on syracuse only to find out it was a duke player away from the ball.

I felt like the targeting caused the fumble, not sure it happens without it.

For the offensive PI calls, agree I have never seen so many called in a game. That said, I didn’t think any of the calls were really that bad, they all looked like offensive PI. I hate the wr pick play that teams run and actually was glad to see it enforced.

Agree. That's how I saw the play and felt it was a fumble, but also thought it should have been targeting.

Agree. It's hard to see the offensive PI calls live, at least for me. But once they showed it on replay, I could see why they were called.

OPI is a harsh penalty when you think of it. The infraction happens down the field put the penalty is unforced from the LOS. Probably should only be 5 yards.

One of our OPIs Collins held the ball way too long and we had a WR blocking before the other WR catch.

Still looked like the shin was down to me.

If the call is down how do you overturn it? Also when was the whistle?

Would also add that targeting implies unnecessary roughness, which I don’t think is reviewable? I’m not sure how you can call one without the other.

and as coach brown alluded to in the post presser. he was ruled in possession and not defenseless .
you are allowed to contact a runners head. happens most plays. not with your helmet or by the facemark.

First one was weird, everyone thought the play was blown dead, didn't even see the OPI, but whatever.

2nd one was pretty obvious. Addazio meathead opines "the tight end was just impeded in running his route!" No he wasn't meathead, he lowered his head and blocked the guy in front of him to take him out of the play.
