Hurley is undeniably a fantastic coach but his inability to control his emotions regardless how much it hurts his team, is shocking. He has that early Bobby Knight type vibe where his anger and entitlement could eventually upend his reputation, career and legacy. There are always going to be passionate coaches but then there are coaches who think the rules, basic decorum, their personal view of the game and lack of respect for those who view things differently, will tarnish their career. Not a good look for him, the university nor his team. I’m certain it will be rationalized, excused even envied as long as he continues winning until…. it continues to escalate till there’s a reckoning, a power showdown when ultimatums occur.
