Ok, put down the Orange Colored Glasses

1. Probably the worst meathead coaching display since the Grob era. What were you thinking Babers? And, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

2. The OL is marginally better than last year...maybe.

3. The DL got no pressure on WMU’s QB and got pushed around. No NFL prospects there that I can see.

4. Bradshaw has no business being on the field.

5. Custis looked all-world. No other WR can catch a pass. Inexplicable.

6. Dungey is unreal. Hope he doesn’t get hurt because there is no backup ready for D1 action.

7. Those who think Pierce is an NFL TE are kidding themselves.

This aged well.

This thread is aging worse than Vince Vaughn.

Anyone catch him on the sideline at LSU last night? He looks like Christopher Walken.

I think Vince Vaughn is aging pretty well tbh. Plus he was great in Cell Block 99.

I... i don't know why i felt the need to say this.

Seriously...is OIB some troll from syracuse.com? His/her takes are like hot, salty, garbage.
OIB is as wrong as the Syracuse beat writers. Don't give up your day job son.

Our success vs ND is going to depend on which Eric Dungey takes the field,

Will it be the wild thrower we saw against UNC and at times versus WF? (His UNC wildness was attributed by some as being due to an injury. But he wasn't injured against WF. There were some drops, but more balls just launched in the general direction of the receiver)

Or will it be the pin-point passer we saw against NCSU?

We can win with the good passer ED and will get crushed if ED puts on another imitation of Chicago Bears QB Bobby Douglas.

Eric started slowly yesterday (0-5) but finished with a 66% completion percentage for the game. Not bad considering the high winds.

I wonder how TDs throws in that wind will be the next few years.

This thread is like yesterday’s game thread when in the 1st qtr all was lost.
Can I say the highlight of that quarter was your admonition that if they keep it up theyd be posting soon over at Syracuse.com.! That my friend was some seriously awesome posting!

The more noteable thing about the threads that are being reviewed is who started them. ;)
Exactly.
No name posters w/ little history or reference, who mysteriously disappear and are never to be heard from again.
Trolls who sow discord and disruption. Hmmmm...

Consistently one of the most overreactive/negative posters we’ve had here during the down years. I’m sorry but even that early in the season, saying there are no NFL D Line prospects on the roster is just moronic.

So there's a "wild" Dungey and an "accurate" Dungey not only on a game to game basis, but also within games.

One of those first misses against WF the pass to the short receiver on the sideline looked like it was 5 ft. over his head. This wasn't a miss. It reminded me of pitchers who occassionally thorw the ball over the catcher's head.

After a couple of those passes in the UNC game, I asked myself, "Who was that pass even to? That thing had no chance."

On the basis of absolutely no evidence, I think that Dungey has a gear he gets in where he just chucks the ball in the general area of the receiver. It's not physical, as some have suggested, its mental.

I think that's what Baber's saw when he pulled him and put DeVito in. ( I watched GB v. NE last night with two great QB's, both of whom are extraordinarily calm and thought about ED as a polar opposite)

It might be adrenalin. It might be running out of ideas and trying to force things to happen. It might be just unrestrained competitiveness taking over his mind. (Occassionally in basketball or lacrosse I have seen guys take the ball to the hoop or cage against crazy odds driven, I think, by just sheer competitiveness.)

I watched another SU player being interviewed the other day who had been a good basketballer in high school. He was asked who he would want on a basketball team composed of SU football palyers. He started with Dungey, not because he is a good player, but just based on his desire to win.

I love ED. But I did wonder when he was throwing all this wonderful strikes against NCSU, "Who is this guy wearing #2? Is there an evil identical twin back in the dressing room?"

I totally get where you're coming from. My post wasn't meant as a criticism of your point.

Re: Eric's hoops prowess
Have you watched his HS hoops tape? The kid is a ridiculous athlete and has a "reported" vertical jump approaching 40".
