OK, Which Recruits Contribute Immediately?

They have all contributed already. Most verbally committed fairly early and stayed committed. Helps with future classes. In the future when kids get offers from the little round orange guy they will know that the class will fill up fast and stay filled up.

Welcome aboard Class of 2015! Looking forward to great things from this class on the field and in the future.

If Steven reaches his goals at this year's power lifting championship, he'll be ready. Shooting for a 430 bench, a 565+ squat, and a 335 clean.

That squat is sick. That's the data point that tells me he may be ballin' in September.

Trey's a gimme. If Blair qualifies, he is a gimme to me, due to his talent and position. Also think Frederick has a good shot because we have zero Safeties. i think the staff is making a mistake not bringing in a ready to go JUCO there. Usually Linemen need a redshirt year to be ready physically, but if anyone has a shot to play immediately, i'm betting on Clark. Strickland and Fredericks also look impressive to me.

I hope we don't waste a year with any of our players like last year. In my opinion,Syracuse wasted a year on the the 6-5 wide receiver/tight end out of Philly . The kid hardly played! Some could question AJ's use at QB….I know Hunt got hurt, but could we have done any worse using the two Redshirt freshmen QB's and saving AJ's redshirt year? Freshman, who are ready, should play…no question about that, but some players clearly could benefit from a redshirt year.

Don't forget Wilson had a concussion. Otherwise they might have been able to save AJ's shirt.

Did it help that much though? I'm asking because the last 2-3 weeks sure seems to have had a lot more drama than expected. Obviously there were a couple of players who made it worth SU getting back in, but it sure seemed like a lot of work was still being done on 2015.

I'm curious to see what an early signing period does- would SU hold some spots to try and grab kids left behind by bigger programs, or would they lock in a class just to have one locked in?

Other than he is a JUCO, we aren't TE heavy and the reported shift to the 12 package...is there anything on his film to believe he is a potential threat? I haven't studied him much, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of evidence to get super excited about.

Wasn't as much drama than I expected. This is one of those things that can never be known because you can't prove a negative. When a lot of kids start decommitting (that we really want to keep) doubt can creep into some kids' minds. We weren't scrambling around for JUCOs at the last minute.

All in all, with all the changes, I thought it was quite uneventful except for Clark and Pickard - both positives. Bodes well for the future I think.
