Calipari stated last week, "Maybe if we lose I can get their attention." But Kentucky isn't going to lose, especially not in the SEC. We have played horribly (for us) and we still aren't losing. So JB pulls his "We suck" routine in lieu of losing. He knows we don't stand a chance in the NCAAs with the lack of effort so he blows up now. It worked to some extent last night. Fair, Melo and Joseph all gave more effort after the half. If you look at their individual stat lines. 9, 7 and 7 boards; they aren't bad considering they all came in the second half.
I guarantee we get maximum effort out of all 10 on Saturday and JB says "I told you so."

I think sometimes people here forget that the other team is trying to win the game as well, and when it comes to teams like Marquette, Georgetown they are going to scratch, claw, bite, cheat, whatever they can to win. They win by making the game ugly and frustrating a lot of our guys, if you bring the ball down low you will get hit and hit hard. I actually commend the effort but that has not been nor will it ever be our style under JB, you may see more of that when Hop takes over. Certain teams will out hustle or out physical us almost everytime we play them and I think that is what JB was getting at. Obvioulsy, he knows what he has and knows that isn't our style but you at least need to get somewhat down and dirty at times, didn't see that last night but I thought the game was great very entertaining. I enjoy workingman's basketball at times. JT3 and Huggins are two of the best defensive coaches in basketball
