Class of 2020 OL Chad Lindberg (TX) Portal from Georgia to Rice

I have seen him listed as a second team tackle on some Georgia two deeps for 2024.

I would think he would have a great chance of starting if he came here. It is important to note he has two years of eligibility left, which makes him a lot more attractive.

He is originally from Texas.

The Bulldogd considered Lindberg an OT and Josh Miller an OG. Guessing we we would do the same.

On Sunday, Georgia football offensive lineman Chad Lindberg announced his decision to enter the transfer portal. Lindberg shared his plans in a tweet, stating he intends to transfer as a graduate with two years of eligibility remaining.

The former four-star recruit signed with UGA out of League City, Texas as a member of the 2020 recruiting class. He was rated as the No. 13 offensive tackle in his class, per 247Sports Composite.

Lindberg (6-foot-6, 325 pounds) has served as a backup along Georgia's offensive front for several years. He played in 12 games for the Bulldogs last season as a rotational offensive lineman, a part of UGA's "Jumbo" package and special teams contributor. Lindberg appeared in four games in 2021 after not seeing the field as a freshman. He played in six games in 2022.

Lindberg is the 20th scholarship player and fourth offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Austin Blaske, Aliou Bah and Joshua Miller chose the same route during the early window.

Maybe someone will give him a chance as a starter, or maybe he's not a starter, especially in the GA first team offensive line. Some players sit the pine and occasionally get to play and some don't. Obviously he thinks he can play, thus the transfer portal. We'll see. As Legacy said, Coach Nixon is following him on X.

Understandable.
Good academic school to pursue an MBA, and in his home state.
I've been happy to see Rice being more competitive and bowling the last couple of years. Always thought they had a ton of untapped potential as a program, but never really emphasized it.
