Thanks for the scouting report, Tom.

Fran and the coaching staff continue to bring in massive OL after massive OL. Our OL used to be relatively small, and not that good. Over the last two years, we've gotten huge, and still maybe not that good. Next step will be to get big guys who are huge and are good.

Hopefully, this guy will be in the latter group.
OL tend to take a while to develop. Especially when there is something wrong with them, like most of the guys we get. We should know a lot more about our young OL around this time next season.

I think Washington will be a solid starter at OG and Hawn is likely going to win a starting job at OL. I would not be surprised if Stewart is also at least splitting time at the center position.

Offers to date from Toledo and Rhode Island. Huge frame.

Old Bridge is not a football power. Only football player from there I have heard of is the legendary Artur Sitkowski. Sitkowski had a crappy highlight tape, was rated accordingly but when Rutgers was again shunned by every decent QB in the eastern US, they ended up offering him. He of course accepted.

The RU fan boys bumped his rating to an insane level and raved about what a great find he was. He ended up being a horrible college player but was a great fit for RU football, retaining their long standing traditions with distinction.

Anyway, Long actually has a nice tape of his first 3 games of his junior season. He clearly has the size he is listed at. Very strong. Was struck by his nastiness. It is difficult to project the future of high school offensive linemen, but I find one of the biggest differentiating factor Is their level of nastiness. The ones that are really mean tend to be the most successful. Long is not a nice guy on the field and that is a good thing.

He is raw. Not very flexible. Plays too high. Runs like a bent over crab. But he is nimble enough to get to linebackers and his balance and footwork pass blocking is good. Looks like he took his bench press recently from 225 to 295 and that might have been enough to convince SU to offer him. His 500 squat and 595 deadlift are numbers you like to see from junior in HS.

Old Bridge’s most famous alum is probably Brian O'Halloran, who is most known for playing Dante in the Clerks movies. Nice.
As an Old Bridge resident, I'll add a couple of things. Art was originally committed to Miami after attending IMG Academy. He flamed out at IMG which I imagine led to Miami most likely pulling his offer.

Also, besides Brian O'Halloran, Vitamin C who sang "Graduation" (Friends Forever) also graduated from OBHS. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff went to school in Old Bridge but I am not sure if he graduated high school here. The most renowned Old Bridge alums are, in my estimation, UnknownOrange 's cousins Nick and Matt.

Renounced ska band Catch 22 formed in Old Bridge.

First off, great job recruiting the OL recently.

But I think they really need to go and find an OL coach who is way better than what they've had for
like the last ten plus years, really since Marrone, and one can understand why. He got it as a former
lineman, the coaches since haven't. You get OLs that can't run block or pass block, and you're like,
how is that possible to stink at both? Fix that, and maybe with a 2nd string QB you can at least be
competitive with defenses who are terrible, instead of scoring 3 whole points.

Keep up with the recruits; just get a coach who can make the OL work. Even BC can make an OL
work; they've done it forever, that's their calling card.

Good stuff.

I think Artur was one of those kids who developed physically really early. If memory serves, he was considered one of the top prospects in his class when he was a frosh and sophomore but as he got older, he stopped developing and other kids caught up and he ended up being nothing special. We all went to school with these kinds of guys. I think Art has overcome his turbulent college experience at Rutgers, stayed out of jail and is coaching at Illinois now, so congrats to him for that.

Other Old Bridge alum standouts:

Ken Leung

Remember the villainous henchman Sang in Rush Hour? He almost took out Jackie Chan. That was Ken. He also played Miles on Lost, was a guest star on The Sopranos and has done a lot of other stuff.

Old Bridge also produced Fabian Nicieza, who was a co-creator of Deadpool.

Nick and Matt?!

Shouldn't the assistant coaches send them a quick text with the actual name of the school when they commit to "University of Syracuse?" It would seem easy to update their instagram post.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is from Old Bridge, but went to St. Peter’s for high school. Don’t forget Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez as well!

Penn St oline coach will be looking for a new job. Hes a really good coach and a even better recruiter. Fran should make the call after the season.

Hs name is Phil Trautwein. Went to HS in NJ. Went to Florida, where he was a star and then had a long NFL career. Went to BC to become a GA, then got his first full time coaching job at Davidson.

Became BC’s OL coach, where he did well for 2 years. PSU snapped him up and he has been doing well there. He would be very expensive, and there are no direct ties to Fran, but I agree he would be a great hire.

If we replace Dale, I would expect someone who has coached with Jeff Nixon, and/or Fran.
