Class of 2025 - OL Denzil Williams (NY) Verbal to BC | Syracusefan.com

Class of 2025 OL Denzil Williams (NY) Verbal to BC

Good amount of offers for a unrated NY guy. Just goes to show there’s a lot more talent than people think. Good project, needs a few years in a D1 S&C program.

Oh My God Wow GIF

He is really athletic for an OL. They love to pull him and take advantage of his agility and speed.

I think he projects as an OG in college. I believe he will be a good one.
Was just watching his film and thinking the same thing ... good size and excellent balance. Very quick feet. Was downfield as fast as the RB. Unfortunately we're not the first program to notice.

Between NY NJ PA and New England there are an enormous amount of HS players. The population of NY State Hs players dwarfs' states like GA and SC. It is my two cents that many of these kids are either not rated at all or under rated. Fran and this staff have the connections to be told about solid prospects that are under the radar and i believe he is going to make a living off these types of players.

I think Skylar Harvey took his spot. We would have loved to have had him in our class a year or two ago.

I think if Jayden Mann decides he wants to come here, maybe we find room for him. He is that good. There might be another OL or two outside NYS that we really love and would also take. Not sure about that.

Unless the OL is really special, I suspect there is no room at the inn for them at Syracuse.

Yeah I'm thinking the same just based on the numbers. And plus if you consider that it looks like we took 5 high school OL in the 2024 class as well, although I'm not sure if some of the late guys that played both O and D exactly where they land.

Intuitively, I think that with OL there should be a greater reliance on the portal compared to other positions.

I actually completely disagree. There’s a lot of evidence that the strength of an OL heavily relies on long periods of development as a group. If you rely heavily on the portal, it leaves you with less time for the OL to work itself out.
