Syracuse football has one of its highest rated recruiting classes over the last 20 years for the 2026 cycle. The 2027 cycle is off to a strong start with the third ranked class nationally to this point. Now the Orange is on the board for the 2028 class. Jacksonville (FL) Zarephath Academy offensive tackle Omari Lawson has announced his verbal pledge to Syracuse. The 6-6, 260 pounder was on the Syracuse campus this weekend to watch the game against Pittsburgh.

"It felt right," Lawson said. "I trust coach Fran and how he operates his program and makes his players work and earn everything."

Lawson has high expectations for himself and the program when he arrives.
