Interesting...

We brought in several OL transfers last year. Some played, some generally did not see the field [the OG from Hampton, the kid from Georgia]. Wonder if some of those guys ascend THIS year.

But a true center might make everything snap into place with this group.

ALSO interested in whether the JUCO eligibility changes mean that Bradford and / or Petry stick around for another year. While I'd like to upgrade over them as starters, they'd provide additional depth, if nothing else.

At minimum, a guy who has started at BOTH RG and RT. So, improved depth / experience. And if guys beat him out, what a valuable reserve.

Sam started the first seven games of the 2024 season for ND. It appears he was a starting OG. Then they made chance and moved to to the 2nd team at center. He continued to get some snaps but never got his starting job back.

We know there is strong demand for OL out there. My guess is that Sam is going to get a big financial offer to come to a number of schools.

He is from North Carolina so there isn't a strong regional tie to him for Syracuse. I expect the NC schools will offer him big bucks and he will take one up on the chance to play close to home.

Hope we try but I suspect we are a decided long shot. I don't think we are going to out bid a ton of schools for players in the portal like Sam.
