Class of 2017 OLB Drew Singleton (NJ) Transferred from Michigan to Rutgers

He heard he’d get a lot of pancakes if he went there.

Unfortunately for Drew, they aren’t the IHOP kind.
Going to IHoP for pancakes is like going to White Castle for a burger. Ewwww...

I'll give Ash a tiny bit of credit, he's picked up some good transfers this offseason. Won't save them from going 3-9 or worse and losing his job, but they are some good pickups.

He's gone all out to get transfers because he needs to win this year or he's out. It's not too hard of a sell to tell kids they are guaranteed the starting job. Almost every transfer they got will start for them. Like you said, instead of getting 1 win, they will get 3 or 4. Does that really keep his job? Thats what rutgers admins have to decide. lol He needs a penn st or Michigan type win.

It's reasonable to bring in, essentially, hired guns and hope that an influx in talent will give you a few wins, but these aren't "system guys" who may know and play better within whatever system Ash is trying to utilize. They might make some nice plays, but if they are out of position, missing assignments, etc., it will hurt them in the long run (of the game and the season). Like you said, will it be enough to keep his job? If he does keep it, and the improved talent have another year to develop, then he might see more progress...but if there isn't depth, it won't be sustainable (as we have seen, but are finally digging out of that quagmire!).

We need Rutgers to win 5 or 6 games this year so The Ash is retained.

Can’t see any way that they win 5 or 6. Question is do they keep him w 3 or 4 wins which is still improvement for them. I doubt it w 3 but feel like good chance he’s retained w 4. We want them to retain him.

Not 6. We can’t risk them getting a bottom bowl and potentially wining 7
