So you have the ball and are outside of field goal range (inside your own 40) on 1st down and you just punt? So your only way to score defensively is fumble recoveries on kicks and blocked kicks?

I'm intrigued by this.

You'd have to be the Raiders and put Bo back returning kicks then.

It's true. Tho it Depends on the defense. If you do a quick down or up (or side depending on your perspective) and then dive (a button if I remember)... The nose tackle would literally dive thru the oline and make the sack near instantly.

This is vs the CPU I'm assuming. Unless you have a stud NT you're just as likely to bounce off in a crumpled heap as to break through.

Never played Tecmo. But when I was a kid I was pretty damn good at that electronic game on a metal field where you lined up your players, turned it on, then watched your guys vibrate all over.

i was given one of those as a kid one christmas..once i couldnt find where the turbo or switch guys button was i threw it out

Was it Super Tecmo where it was nearly impossibly to go undefeated if you played the computer for a whole season? You could go 15-1 every single time, but there was always one game where the other team would go insane and score every drive? At least with the Chargers it seemed like that would happen w/ the Raiders once a year or SF. Every other game you would win 100-0.

NHL '94 on Sega is the best sports game ever, Tecmo #2.

i used to refer to that 1 inseason game that was impossible to win as a "NFW game".. no way.. no matter what you did, you were going to fumble or throw an int and lose the game somehow

I am going to pat myself on the back and say I was nearly unbeatable as Super Tecmo Bowl. I probably have played more seasons and games than anyone. I used to play one whole season a day over and over and over again day after day after day. I loved taking the worst teams in the game and try to win the Super Bowl with them.

Way ahead of its time and by far my favorite all time video game. It isnt even close. The stats feature alone blew me away.

I remember one year on Xmas break a bunch of my friends from home were playing and I was just watching and they asked me why i wasn't playing. I said trust me...you don't want to play me. They laughed and were like whatever bring it on. So I took the 2-14 Pats (using Marv Cook at RB of course) and put an 80-0 beatdown on one of them. They were in awe. I just remember saying "You really have no idea how many hours I've spent playing this game at Syracuse".
