Well discussed. Big issues
Just going back thru some plays

Drive 1 play 2. 2nd and 6 after Collins gets hurt. We run 2 TE set Pitt has 6 in the box. We dont block the LB on the blitz so we really have no way to handle that run blitz. But its compounded by Valari having no one to block. Pitt rotates the dline so the DTs are both in the A gap. Pitt brings both LBs up late so 6 man line.

RT takes L-DE Center/G take L-DT. Clement takes LB, LT takes R-DE, LG blocks no one. LT has to try and chip DE and also take DT and gets blown up.

We are blocking 7 on 6. Is this bad scheme or bad execution. There has to be some scheme here to handle this once the D goes to the AGap. vallari has no chance here to help. The LG does nothing. Then the crashing LB blows up the play as well. Feels like the Center/LG need to do something else. The LG has the MLB so not sure whether he finished off the DT or is told to just brush and release but it will never work this way especially if the LB is crashing down. Seems like if RPO is the game then why isnt the play run off the other shoulder so RIcky is facing the LB and he can hold the ball and go around end where this no one home?

I don't understand how someone doesn't get Villari to the other side on that uncovered LB.

And yes, Mack was trying to cover two people. One of them just pushed him down like a child.

Two thoughts here, first he probably should’ve kept it rather than hand it off. Either side was open. But also It’s OK to have an unblocked linebacker there. Quarterback needs to audible into the running back running out into the flat for a swing pass to the side where the linebacker came from. Punish the aggressiveness.

If the linebackers are coming in an A or B gap blitz, that end position might be a decoy and might be using a peel technique on the running back if it’s a pass play or just setting the edge if we run. But with a linebacker there, he’s definitely coming, and daring Collins to read it. Its easy to neutralize with a veteran quarterback. Just audible to swing pass.
