they get a bye then a friday game vs memphis as 10 pt dogs which is actually a bit low to me when you look at how memphis can score.

usf can run the ball, at 200+ a game we will need to be on our toes and they will have some athletes if we put them in the open field. hopefully at 1-3 the crowd stays home and we bring our A game offense.

These next 2 games will go a long ways in determining whether we get to a bowl. We are right where many of us thought we'd be, 3-1. We are better than both USF and UVa. Win these two and we go into the much tougher back half of the schedule more confident of a bowl.

Yep. I've watched some of USF and even more of UVA - with Dungey, we're better than both of those teams. And I'm confident that we're better coached than both of those teams. If we come out of Charlottesville at 5-1, I'd have to think that we'd be even be getting some votes in the polls depending on how we play.

5-1 with convincing wins and we might sneak in the Top 25

USF played FSU tough, and UVA played both UCLA and ND tough. Not so sure these are guaranteed wins. Especially with a young team on the road.

I am jacked up about this team but I think USF, UVA and PITT are all 50/50 games. would be THRILLED with 2-1. 5-2 with 5 to play.

The road element is pretty interesting. We are a young team. That could be a sizable bump in the road.

I can assure you there will be no issues with crowd noise. That place is huge and they have no fans even when they are good. The Cuse fans will be louder than the USF crowd.

USF had the entire offseason to get ready for FSU, and I 'm sure their players had chips on their shoulders, since none of them got recruited by FSU. FSU was also breaking in a "new" quarterback. That game was USF's superbowl. At 1-4 when we play them, I love our chances.

Ditto Uva with Notre Dame. They were jacked to play ND. If anyone saw them on Friday, I doubt they'd be scared of playing them.

True, they are road games. But I like our chances in these 50/50 games, with our offense giving us a chance to put up points... unlike several of the last few years. We are coming out of the first third of our season sky high from a confidence standpoint. We didn't sustain any major injuries against LSU, and the team now believes that they can play with anybody. Bring it.

I'm not that worried about teams that run the ball well. Teams that can pass should scare us a lot more.

Clemson. And maybe NC State/FSU.

I am nervous about USF because I am nervous about every game. Bottom line is a crappy Maryland team turned it over 5 times against them and still won by double digits. We are a much better team than USF(we are better than Maryland too). No reason we shouldn't take them out.

They haven't played anybody.

Colossally weak preseason schedule. By design.

They were called out in a preseason article I saw as having one of the weakest preseason schedules [Rutgers was in the bottom 5, as well].

Statistically USF appears to be the 2nd worst passing team we've faced this season and the 2nd best running team.

Their defense...they gave up 268 yds rushing to Delvan Cook in the Florida State game. Cook is a very good running back

They gave up 297 yards passing against Maryland...Maryland QB Caleb Rowe (his first start this year) had a spazzy game, 4 TDs, he also had 3 interceptions and 3 fumbles.

With Dungey this may be the first game this year (outside of RI) where I'm very confident that we should win. We're showing signs that we have a potentially solid offense, and our D should be able to handle USF.

Not that worried that it's on the road.

USF is such a funny team, and have been over the last ~5-6 years. Full of Florida kids with good offers, but they must be deficient in one aspect of their game, and they haven't had the best coaches/schemes recently. They always seem like they could be a team that is boom or bust, just like UCF. But it looks like this year they're stil pretty poor.
