Lost my voice for 10 days after that game. The WFVU fans at the Dome were so angry. Geno Smith is still looking for his teeth after Chan & Co smacked him around all day.

Those highlights give me such nostalgia. Those were some of my favorite SU teams back then. Hearing their names had me smirking. Playmakers all over the place, especially on defense. Chan, Philip Thomas, Shamarko.

Then seeing Floyd Little out there honoring Ernie Davis. Damn. I'm not crying, you're crying.

Poor Geno. Seems like a nice enough guy but I can't think of any other football player I associate more with just making negative plays and struggling than him.

Got back from Australia in time to get up to the fine lot in time for the post game.

Still unreal the team couldn't win another game that season after the WVU game and missed out on a bowl game and what would have been a 4 year bowl streak.

I remember the game at Uconn being insanely frustrating that year.

Still unreal the team couldn't win another game that season after the WVU game and missed out on a bowl game and what would have been a 4 year bowl streak.

I remember the game at Uconn being insanely frustrating that year.

yeah, injuries were piling up, but outside of this game, this team really sucked. Wake Forest had us in the opener and then their QB got hurt and we pulled it out. We all remember the Toledo missed extra point that wasn't a missed extra point fiasco, they barely beat a horrific Tulane team who fired their coach two weeks later. I think the most unreal thing was how we destroyed WVU, Shafer and the kids on our D had Geno's number, bigtime

That team after 7 games was the exact opposite of the 2021 team after 7 games. We are a very strong 3-4. That team was a very weak 5-2.

We are 3-4 but are SO close to having a better record if a few breaks went our way.

That team was 5-2, only because Wake Forest's QB got knocked out of the game in the opener when they were dominating us and the backup sucked. And then the Toledo game where the extra point didn't go through but the ref decided to count it anyway.

If I recall in the Toledo game the refs relied on our people for the extra point replay and the only angle they gave them was a less clear one so they didn’t overturn it
