One Orange Alliance

Remember this is essentially an expansion of Football NIL. It makes sense that they want to have the flexibility to take care of Fran first and then spread the wealth. Last thing they want is to give someone who has been contributing in the past to SUFBNIL to decide to earmark half that donation to volleyball.
Don’t live it, but understand the potential logic.
Ha ha ha ha

not that i can see unless im missing something. its bs if the donor cant pick the sport.
So the organizers have power to allocate as they deem fit? Lots of power and leaves lots of room for politics. Who is running it?

0.0% chance I donate to anything like that. People want to pick their program. If I want to make the MBB roster better, I'm not going to take a chance the money is going to field hockey. This should flop.

Some people just won’t donate then. They’re leaving people on the sidelines. We need every penny.

They've talked about phases and I think the next phase is coming soon, not generating the enthusiasm whatsoever.

So my takeaway from this article is the following. Gerry had more money than Red, but less relative buying power. The increase didn’t keep up with the market.
My take away was completely the opposite, He unequivocally hit more than he missed primary targets. Remember retention from last year's team, retention from his previous team that he wanted all along, hitting in the transfer portal several primary targets. Seemingly the only misses were in the front court. I am very happy with this recent acquisition and I trust he is as well most importantly. In any event we were not completely reliant on the portal as many were. A great listen would be yesterday's discussion with Adam Finkelstein with Paulie and Steve. He was impressed before we even got this gentleman exclusively as it relates to calculated roster plan, once again plan....plan. It might not be the prettiest however it does have a good amount of experience and I trust leadership and most importantly lockdown defensive presence. Another poster stated earlier about the negativity that pervades, I completely agree. like the archaic massively in everything is always wrong geriatric yet Ill informed, unintellectual, downright mean and negative mindsets that pervade this region. like yuck That is by the way why droves of young people leave... then if you say anything about the need to be positive, with objectivity concerning big picture and the current state we live in you get beat up. I'm going to keep it for sure. I wasn't addressing you directly please know that this is for all the trolls who contribute nothing except their mouth and I apologize for their children If they have them. That is scary some of them my gosh. I saw Macky up on the hill today, Great guy and ridiculously positive. He chose to stay, like so many of us. Troll posse alert

Very few people here talk about the buying power isn't just the money you have to offer against competitors, but the credibility you have. Gerry would need almost double the funding as a third year head coach and the first time at the power conference level compared to the competitors to have the buying power necessary to really beat out the credibility of the programs he is going up against to land every top target at every position. They are acquiring to assemble the best overall roster possible to raise the floor of the team next season, not to assemble the roster trying to get the highest ranked star possible and not have money to assemble a good roster around the star. Balance. Show a proof of product with successful development and maximization of what you have, build up donations in the background, increase your spending power next season to retain and acquire higher of your type of targets at each position with increased credibility.
While hopefully still mining top 70 high school recruits with big upside. Especially if they show potential and we win. The development of talent definitively for the National Basketball Association unequivocally not someone else's basketball program at Syracuse University. I think a plan is coming together I trust. I hope rational fans can attempt to see what they are trying to do as you stated and get behind this gentleman. This was a big get today I trust.

It's likely not as dire as the Minaya data suggests. But everyone who was paying attention, and I do mean everyone, knew that there'd be year-to-year inflation.

The Front Office Sports piece I shared a month ago suggested that there'd be a roughly +25% increase in the budget necessary to assemble tourney team.

SU was on the fringe of what was necessary last season. I've tempered my enthusiasm about the supposed amount Gerry's hiring brought in, since all that seems to have done is put us on the fringe of what will be necessary for next season.

Why do you feel that way? What specifically makes you think he is? Just curious
“I don’t know that I’ve seen the level of cohesiveness or togetherness that I would like to see. I think you have to make it really easy for people to understand how they can support and where they can support.”

My take from that is he is hitting some road blocks with the old guard/newer donors and getting them aligned

There is a contact the organizer option it appears here I think might be good for them to hear from those who want to be able to donate to a specific sport. Can’t hurt..
where is the contact the organizer option? I haven't found it. Thanks. I don't even see a way to send a comment on cuse.com.

Edit: I found it. It's on the Contribution page. But you have to create an account to do it; I'll pass for now. In the past I'd often send an email directly to the John Wildhack. Always got a reply from him.

Hopefully someone connected with the One Orange Alliance is smart enough to read this thread as well as the one on the Football Forum.
