If you are coming from Manhattan, you have 2 choices if you don't want to drive: 1) bus out of Port Authority and 2) train out of Penn Station (will need to switch to Stadium shuttle in Secaucus). The cost is about the same, the train is $11 roundtrip and the bus is $12. The bus leaves a little earlier in the morning, but the train has later service back after the game.
