Certain schools like USC, Miami, Notre Dame, etc. would be seem to predispose themselves to a pro style coach. This would be for no reason other than the ability to sell themselves to recruits as a pro factory and the input they would get from alums who have played in the NFL. I think Dino is the absolute perfect coach for SU for so many reasons. Nationally though, although teeth will gnash each time one of the opportunities pop up, I am not sure he is viewed as highly as we know he should be...

Hiring him brings a gimmick type offense aspect even though we see it with greater regularity in the pros...

Not a ton of NFL alums under his tutelage (yet)

Perception that hiring him will require a few years and large roster overall to get the players and system in place, etc.

I think factory jobs may have a long thought process before they make what could be considered by some as a Rich Rodriguez-type hire.

Maybe I am wrong and I hope I am not but I feel pretty confident this is his final coaching stop...and we will be rewarded.
