Only one thing bothered me about last nights game

I didn't think their OL bloew us off the ball, but they effectively "muddle" blocked and their backs and Daniels did a GREAT job of reading the flow and picking the holes. I think Shafer got caught playing a bit of a no mans land style of defense. He didn't go after him...but when we played coverage, we didn't spy Daniels - at least not effectively. IMHO, you have to do one or the other.

Also want to agree with the folks that the tackling was bad...ESPECIALLY the front 4.

I saw Goggins continue to make plays, but it seemed like Bromley was less active and Crume played a lot. Did freshman Josh Manley (#95) play yesterday?

I always like going after a mobile QB b/c I never feel like spying works (you're putting a less athletic guy in most cases in charge of containing some stud qb) and because I think playing conservative in general is playing into his hands as he has space. I'd rather go after a guy and if he makes a few plays, he makes a few plays. But if you can make a few plays, you have a much better chance of stalling drives. Will be interesting to see how this works going forward.
